yesterday went to excellent opthamalogist that works with my llmd.
after examination he said i had roachea and possibly sjogrens.
he found no tears whatsoever, extremely dry mouth and almost no sweat in the sweat glands.
he wants me to have myself checked for sjorgrens,
but i feel it is just additional autoimmune symptoms of chronic lyme.
can you have both or all three together or are they all symptoms from the lyme?????

Hi Doc,

I believe Chronic Lyme. Just wanted to share. I've had the extremely dry eyes also. I've been on many antibiotic combinations, but most recently added low dose Minocycline.

The eyes are getting more moisture each week. Also helping with blurred vision. I know Mino is being used for the "Lupus" diagnoses with success.

Probably Lyme related, but you do need to use some sort of lubrication for your eyes -- you don't want things to get any worse as dry eyes can become infected or more easily scratched.

The lubricating gels are probably better than the eyedrops -- must read labels -- the kind with the least preservatives are your best bet.

Hubby does not completely close his eyes when he sleeps causing them to dry out so he needs to use lubrication. Eye doc did a test for this with special tissue paper.

i'm new to posting but not to lymes-i've been sick for 8 years now.

you can have sjogrens and lymes. i was diagnosed with both. i do, however, believe that the lymes triggered the auto-immune disease. i would go ahead and get tested so that you can find treatment and stall the progression of the sjogren's. it can be quite debilitating.
