Hi All, Wondering if someone can weigh in on this. I've been told by some docs that I do have Lyme and other docs that I don't and that illness stems from something else. Here are my test results. I've been sick on and off for 20 years. Only 2 of western blot bands were positive, as shown below. ELISA test is always positive. Can anyone weigh in?

Lyme (IgM) Antibodies by western blot-23 kDa Positive
Lyme (IgG) Antibodies by Western Blot-41 kDa Positive

Lyme Ab, Total/IgM Responses
Lyme IgG/IgM Ab - 1.23 High (positive is greater than 1.09)
Lyme Ab, Quant, IgM - 2.63 High (positive is greater than 1.09)

Well, if this clarifies the matter, I asked someone this past week at Stonybrook Lab in NY what band they consider to be the most specific for lyme disease and they answered "band 23".

What lab were you tested at?

I would suggest additional testing at the following labs, AND a work up by an LLMD. Looks suspicious.

Some good labs for lyme testing are Igenex lab www.igenex.com

Medical Diagnostics Lab www.mdlab.com

and SUNY at Stony Brook www.path.sunysb.edu/labs/ticklab/TICKLAB.htm

Hi
You might want to check out Central Florida Research site. It might be of some help.

Hi Rubyart,

I was tested via Quest lab for Western Blot. (Before visiting this site and getting educated).

The only band I had show up was Igm band 23.

Also told how significant this band was. Based on symptoms (I had 61 out of 80), I was dx with Lyme.

My LLMD saw no reason to repeat WB testing via Igenex. Actually had me fill out paperwork for health department with Lyme dx.

IMHO, I would find a LLMD asap.

Good luck and God bless.

Geneal
