The situation with Dr. Jones' Legal Defense Fund remains very serious!
I spoke with him yesterday and there is no significant increase in the money coming in to the Fund!
Although there are two additional hearings scheduled for September, at the moment there is not enough money in the fund to pay the attorneys beyond the June 22nd hearing.
Please don't assume that others are sending money in. It's not happening in any meaningful way.
Please don't wait for planned fund raisers.
Fundraisers are great, but if we each contact friends and family NOW and let them know what's at stake, we could start building up the defense fund immediately. This kind of person to person request has generally been the best way to build up the legal defense funds.
Someone said that a world without Dr. Jones leading the way in treating Lyme kids would be unthinkable. Please recognize that that could happen unless he has legal representation.
When you ask friends and family to help out, send them the following story about his life and his dedication to Lyme disease. Go to http://lymetimes.org/archives/LT32.PDF and turn to page 5.

We are the "somebody" we've been waiting for! No one else can do this for us. We have to continually help the doctors who make our lives liveable and to fight against the ignorance about this disease.
We cannot allow the effects of Lyme Disease and the stress that accompanies it to lull us into oblivion.
We dare not blink before danger and hope that it will pass and leave us in peace.
We must respond while we have a chance to effect the outcomes of our lives.
Please protect our precious doctors. Please contribute generously to Dr. Jones' legal defense fund now. He has certainly earned out eternal gratitude and support.

Dr. Jones is going to run out of money for his legal defense fund if we do not start contributing and generating contributions from others ASAP.
I will never believe that the Lyme community would let Dr. Jones lose his license for lack of funds.
I will never believe that we would just lie down and let the likes of Eugene Shapiro and the Infectious DIsease Society of America destroy our medical care, the lives of Lyme kids and the most dedicated pediatrician in the country.
I do believe that word has just not gotten out yet that this could really happen.
So PLEASE help me reach everyone who loves and supports Dr. Jones. Let them know that the most effective way for them to show this love and support is to send a contribution as soon as possible.
Help me get across the message to those who don't even know Dr. Jones that we could ALL lose our medical care if ANY Lyme doctor is permitted to lose his or her license.

HAPPY to hear this! I've thought of this before, but never could get my fingers to type what I was thinking at the moment! lyme brain ...uffda.
This way these folks can tell their other family members/friends who saw their children's IMPROVEMENTS due to Dr. Jones' exceptional care to all lyme kids!

I always thought I was living really close to the edge and could not spare any funds. My medical bills are crushing.
But now I know that I can do without some things. It will be worse for us all if our treating Drs continue to be attacked and/or taken from us.
I'm writing my check right now.
