Daise sent this to me asking me to post; I agreed it's good info for other homeless vets as she was one!! Betty

I'm getting a new apartment through a new VA housing program for ... ... homeless veterans that works through section 8 HUD housing.

With the VA program, vets get in an apartment rather quickly (in several weeks, ... ... instead of waiting 1 or 2 years.)

Perhaps you could post that news on Lymenet?

Vets need to call their regional VA Outreach Social Worker's office. Not every VA regional offers it.

After one year in an apartment a vet can transfer the VA section 8 voucher to another state--... ... if that regional VA offers the program.

What constitutes homeless veteran? Tell them to call their VA!
