Excellent! I would much rather smell like lilly of the valley than DEET.

Thanks Marnie! That explains my problem. Never wore any type of scent as I was a RN taking care of respiratory patients. I guess the ticks still like the unscented people .

Actually...you can use unscented OLD...pine tar oil soap. (Vermont Country Store).
Can get shampoos too.
Apparently they don't particularly like that either.
If you want, it comes in peppermint scents.
Which wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Ticks may not like people who smell good but bees do, and I'm allergic to bees. Lily of the Valley is one of my favorite flowers,too. I don't even wear shirts in the summer that have pictures of flowers or bright colors on them.
I went on a picnic today and ate indoors.
I like the scent of pine-what do bees think of pine oil? Kill two bugs with one pine needle???
