I've seen him a couple times and really like him.
I do wonder if his treatment is aggressive enough though, as the more I read, the more I see that many people have more aggressive treatment than I.
Have you seen Dr F, and did you recover under his care?
I am agonizing over whether I should get a new LLMD, as Dr F seems really knowledgable and is easy to communicate with...I just need reassurance that his protocols are effective enough.
can anyone set my mind at ease?

How are you feeling? Do you feel like you are improving?
We are all individuals. So treatments will differ.
PM me if you need more names. But I have heard only positive things about Dr. F

I have been a patient of Dr. F. for a year now...I like you have felt that he was not too aggressive. But, I have been slowly improving...yay!!! He and his staff are outstanding, and very knowledgable. Unfortunatly, with lyme I think the road to recovery is very, very long . You are in good hands. Get well soon!

Does he follow the Burrascano guidelines? For example,
1) are you taking antibiotics to treat lyme in both the cyst and regular form simultaneously? (If not, you are not killing it.)
2) Were you tested for coinfections including mycoplasma?
3)Was IGenex the lab that was used, at least for the lyme?
4) Are you being treated simultaneously for babs if you have it?
5) Does the doc know how to recognize a yeast infection and does he know how to prevent them (as much as possible) and treat them?
I know 2 great LLMDs in Maryland that generally get the patient well in ONE YEAR. There are a few exceptions of course. I an talking about people infected with lyme, babs, bart, and perhaps also mycoplasma.
So, I do not subscribe to the thinking that it will take years for a lymie to get well.
When I was with a lesser doctor, that was definitely the case. But, when you work your way up the food chain to the really good lyme docs, you can be done in 1 year. That's what they tell you they expect to happen at the first appt and that is usually what happens.
Then, you are done and go on with your life. We have a lot of lyme in Maryland, and this is my experience.
Docs who are afraid to treat agressively (want to stay under the radar of the medical establishment, don't want problems with the insurance companies, etc.) treat you and treat you and treat you and you slowly get better, don't know if you'll ever be able to get off their meds though.
The best docs are expensive, but your suffering is greatly shortened and you can go on with your life. I like this way best.

TF, you asked:
Does he follow the Burrascano guidelines? For example,
1) are you taking antibiotics to treat lyme in both the cyst and regular form simultaneously? (If not, you are not killing it.)
>> No, to taking anything for the cyst form yet. It's only been eight weeks, and i see him again in 6 more weeks.
Current meds: zith 300mg alternating days mino 100 mg alternating days bactim 2x day benicar 10 mg 2x day cholestyramine 2x day buhner core protocol (taking before i saw him)
2) Were you tested for coinfections including mycoplasma?
>> yes, thorough testing. negative for everything except Bart. Clinically positive for Bart, Babs, Borrelia.
3)Was IGenex the lab that was used, at least for the lyme?
>> yes
4) Are you being treated simultaneously for babs if you have it?
>> not sure. taking zith
5) Does the doc know how to recognize a yeast infection and does he know how to prevent them (as much as possible) and treat them?
>> I dont remember discussing but it doesn't mean we didn't.
Cancunmom, I really do feel much encouraged by your reply. Dr F seems like such a good man and a kind doctor.
On the other hand, what TF says is very interesting too. Dr F goes more slowly. He says 1-3 years.
answer to Lou-- yes, I JUST starting noticing a difference for a few hours in the evenings with the bactrim and cholestyramine added to my protocol.
any more opinions???
thanks, everyone.
