I just wanted to thank the folks who created the CALDA t-shirts with the "Ticks Suck" logo. I just wore mine on a little trip and got A TON of people laughing and asking and talking to me about Lyme, the T-shirt, my illness, their illness, etc. It is a great way to spread the word and people really
enjoy the funny saying on it too!

CALDA T-SHIRTS ROCK!!! Buy them for the whole family!

Real cute!!!

If only they came in some other color besides lime green -- hubby's least favorite color.

He gets so tired of telling people he doesn't have cancer because of the PICC line in his arm. Maybe he will want one even if it is green.

Great going, trails!

I like the shirt but would like it sans ticks. (Are there any of those out there?)

I cringe typing the word. Having to look at one is worse.
*shudders*

I have a lyme bracelet, but can't wear it. I get a reaction to the rubber, I guess. In a few hours my wrist and arm start tingling and hurting. (I've decided to weave one out of embroidery floss, it's cotton, That should be alright.) [Roll Eyes]

wish they would come up with another word instead of "suck". My son can't wear that to school. (even though it certainly is the truth!!!)

Kathy--I can understand the frustration, but the term is actually CORRECT. There is no other way to say what the ticks do. That is what makes the t-shirts so great.

Ticks do suck. The only other way to say this is "ticks draw (liquid) into the mouth by movements of the tongue and lips that create suction." dn that wouldnt make such a great t-shirt.

It should be approved by the schools' admin because it is TECHNICALLY correct. If someone takes other inferences from the word SUCK, that is their prerogative, but ticks actually DO suck.

I'm glad you like the T-shirts. I need to give credit to David Raitt for the Ticks Suck. Once many years ago I was getting burned out and discouraged and had not done a Lyme Times for months and months, and a friend put on a "FundRazer" for me (for the "business"). David (who is a neighbor, a singer, and Bonnie Raitt's brother) and his wife Kelly made up a song titled "Ticks Suck" which they sang at the FundRazer. After that I had a bit of money to do another issue of the Lyme Times and we're still going strong! I should see if I could get that song on a CD. It would be fun to hear it again.
