First of all, I am in a really bad frustrated frame of mind today. I think that Cumanda affects me very detrimentally psychologically. I never get this frustrated and defeated. I had to stop it the last time I tried it due to extreme depression that made me have very troubling thoughts.

I was having a lot of trouble with Toprol XL the beta blocker. I fainted today. My blood pressure is not raising from this medication like supposedly it should be. It was helping for heart palpitations and heart racing until it begins to wear off about 18 hours after I take it.

When I get my frequent near-fainting episodes my BP runs 85/45 (even before taking Toprol). On it I was getting a severe rebound effect at about 1-2 p.m. where my heart was beating extremely abnormally and irregularly. In addition, I was having difficulty getting a full breath at night and it was keeping me up.

This was going on for a full week so I called the cardiologist first thing in the morning so that they'd have time to respond to me today. The office waits until the absolute last minute of the day and then I couldn't call them back because they were closed. The instructions were to increase my salt and water intake (which I told them I already did) and cut the already tiny dose in half to 12.5 mg.

I was really upset and angry about this suggestion. The medication is not helping and I think this particular medication is not a wise choice based on my already low BP which they don't seem to take seriously since it doesn't occur in their 5 minute appointment.

I want a different option. I don't want to take a placebo dose of a medication that's not even helping. I might as well do nothing. If anything I needed to split the dose and take half in the afternoon when I become symptomatic again. I currently am being told to take one dose at bedtime and it keeps me up all night from extreme anxiety.

I'm so angry. I hate this office. The cardiologist didn't even read my event monitoring report before prescribing this. I'm supposed to be taking it for SVT and fainting. I don't go back there for a month and quite frankly, I don't see the point in returning. The cardiologist spends more time discussing my weight (which is on the low side) than he does coming up with a legitimate and logical plan to help any of my heart symptoms.

I'm so sad. I not only have no input regarding Lyme treatment because I can't see a LLMD any longer, but I also get no help for individual symptoms. To top it off, my weight, which was actually heading up has now completely dropped off again. I can't even get one symptom to improve.............

Have you checked the side effects of the abx you are on? Some do cause this effect on the heart. I had that problem with Zith.

My blood pressure is low too. I did the himalayan salt in water and it helped a little. I would just about pass out when I stood up and my heart palpitations were so bad that I went through a battery of tests.

Stopping the Zith helped. In time as my infection load dropped the bp got somewhat better.

Could the herbs you are taking cause your problem?

How is your thyroid and adrenals?

My thyroid is okay. I don't know about my adrenals but I already take licorice, ashwagandha, salt and rhodiola. I am not on any abx. Only herbs right now and the Toprol which I just started. I switch the herbs frequently.

The heart symptoms have been going on for two full years along with the low bp and fainting so I don't think it's the herbs. I've had this problem all along. I'm just extremely frustrated that I can't even get any help or reliable treatment for a single symptom. It's like the cardiologist doesn't even do his job! What is the point in going to him!!

I did Samento/Banderol for two weeks and took a very short break as suggested. Now I'm on Mora and Cumanda. Cumanda affects me very badly psychologically. Last time I had to go off it pretty quickly.

My next group will be back to Samento/Banderol and either A-BART or A-BAB for two weeks but I don't start that until the 10th.

Are you eating protein at regular intervals throughout the day?

Dr. B at the recent conference suggested 3 tablespoons of coconut oil in a day, spaced throughout, as they were finding hypoglycemia.

I just started adding the coconut oil, and
I also use whey protein isolate throughout the day.

Can your cardio Dr. check your hormones?
I recently experienced heart paps for the first time a few months ago (had EKG, fine, also sounds fine)

IMO, it's either Bartonella (and Cumanda hits Bartonella) or hormones (I am peri-menopausal)

I added quality COQ10 and Hawthorne herb- no heart paps like I experienced anymore, and I am also re-treating Bart.

I also use progesterone cream (natural) for my hormone situation, although I still am not sure about it.

Lyme positive PCR blood, and
positive Bartonella henselae Igenex, 2011.
low positive Fry biofilm test, 2012.
Update 7/16- After extensive treatments,
doing okay!

Hawthorne tincture and bio-identical progesterone worked wonders for my heart symptoms (and adrenal fatigue too).

Parasite herbs and meds have helped me with my heart issues, as well as blood pressure. After treating, it became so obvious to me it was parasites, as treating got rid of the pain, palps, and low bp. The herbs actually do work (herbs and salt/c are a great combo). Also DE. My bp was low too (it's higher now). I also detoxed heavy metals too, and suspect that may have something to do with it all as well.

It sounds like cumanda might not be for you. You can always try A-bart. I love that one. It really helps knock my bart down.

Did you check adrenal hormones?
Low aldosterone can cause low blood pressure.

I would detox(infrared sauna/colonics), and treat for parasites.

Glutathione for detox also.

Get sleep anyway you can.

Thanks for the replies. I have not had my adrenals checked but all of my other hormones were okay which is really strange because I'm only in my 20's and I lost my cycle (probably from being sick and getting too thin).

Yesterday I got a fever which I made a separate post about. It's still going but now it's more of a headache/head pressure than a hot flash. It's 102 and that was off advil so it didn't worsen. Maybe the herbs will stop it. I'm going to add some of the detox herbs too. I have them all because they came with the package I bought. I'll try some Pinella and stuff today and Alka seltzer gold.
