My name is Andy and I have been struggling with Lyme symptoms for over 14 years. My wife and I believe I was bit while still in high school or younger, but major symptoms didn't happen until years later.
When in the Navy 14 years ago, I fell 30 feet and suffered a broken leg and other trauma. Shortly thereafter I started getting Lyme symptoms - brain fog, insomnia/sleeplessness, sweating/night sweats, body aches and pains, trouble concentrating, etc.
I've been on various medications because of my symptoms. However I never found any MD who actually "understood" I finally had enough, and spoke with a naturopath several hours away from me about my symptoms.
His number one thought was Lyme Disease, and recommended I get tested. Of course, the test came back negative (as it only tested for the antibodies).
I am looking to find a Lyme Literate doctor within several hours of me so I can get a lab test run on the bacteria, rather than the antibodies. Then of course to pursue treatment.
Any information and help is very much appreciated!!!!!

If you go to www.MarylandLyme.org and look under "Doctor Referrals" (menu to your left) you will find a site with doctor information for the USA, including information on alternative doctors, labs and support groups.
