Just logged into the Vitamin Shoppe's website for my reorder of pills I am running out of.

I was given a 10% off coupon to use by yesterday which would have helped, but didn't get paid until today:(

Money is super tight as I have a teen w/ Prom, SAT's and college visits that are costing me.

The total has come to $153 for all of these, which I really cannot afford now. I was hoping to keep it under $125 max.

Note I am no longer on abx for now, but still think the probiotics help-no longer taking Florastor until back on abx.

Anyhow, I need to reorder the following:

Ultimate Probiotic 50 billion ct. $46 60ct.
CoQ10 w/ Ubiquinol $20.99 60ct.
Lumbrokinase $23.19 30ct.
R-Lipoic Acid $21.99 60ct.
Krill Oil $23.36 60ct.
MSM $16.99 300ct.

Any input on what I can skip for now for would most appreciated.

I've been taking the Lumbrokinase and Krill once a day instead of twice for the past week to save, but know how important dosages are.

Do you have prescription drug coverage?

I get VSL#3-DS (900 billion ct) prescription. I can do it by the month at the pharmacy or with a 3 month prescription. It really saves me money because those probiotics are expensive!

Have you cross checked your prices with vitacost, iherb and ebay? I do that every time I order. It takes a while longer... I always make sure to order just enough from one place to get the free shipping. If you do have to pay for shipping, always figure that in to your price comparison.

I think you can get a probiotc with more billions of good bacterial, for the same money.

I order VSL#3 from Costco, for about the same price, and it has 210 billion.

See if you can get a prescription for it, then it's just a co-pay.

I find that Vitacost is overall about the cheapest there is .. and they have name brands if you want them.

Check their prices on MSM.. I found one for around $11 .. not sure the quantity.

The VSL really is cheaper even if you don't get the prescription version (Which I DO).

As nspiker said even the pill form is 210 billion per SERVING .. which is 2 capsules.

www.vitacost.com

Also try Swanson's... though they don't have as many name brands as Vitacost.

Vitacost's Carlson's Fish Oil is around $11 for 130 capsules.

Not trying to compete with you, TN... but Vitacost has free shipping until Mar 31 if you order $49 worth.

They had the same offer last month.

I just checked out the Vitacost.

Their Krill and R-Lipoic prices will save me $8.

I just need to find something else for $10.49.

The Vitamin Shoppe is cheaper on everything else, especially Lumbrokinase.

They've extended my 10% off coupon for a day w/ free shipping.

The Vitamin Shoppe Ultimate Probiotic works for me and I hate to spend a bunch on another brand should it not agree with my body.

Still researching-no luck w/ Amazon or Ebay.

Thanks for all the help.

Also check out Swanson's... and iHerb, if you haven't already. I think iHerb currently has a 20% off ubiquinol promotion going on. Healthy Origins, Doctor's Best and Jarrow are decent brands to consider.

I also recommend VSL #3 DS, if your insurance covers it. I got around a year's worth for $20 (trick is to have your doc write a script for 4x daily, and then take about 1/3rd packet daily).

You may want to consider fish oil instead of krill. Save some money that way. If you want astaxanthin (from krill), it's cheaper to just buy it separately.

I just started using vitacost also. They were much cheaper than my LLMDS pharmacy.

The VSL#3 I was paying 90 a box for then was told to get script. I put it through caremark and they called my doc sayng they no longer carry it yesterday. They have something called double dose vsl they are sending instead for only a $20 copayment. If you are sensitive to it, take half a packet to start. I just one full packet at night before bed and it works.

The Vitamin shoppe is cheaper on a few items. You have to check their daily sales which is annoying. Right now they have many thing at 50% off for this week and free shipping.

I was told to use krill instead of fish oil due to less chance of mercury as they are bottom feeders.

one4islands - I heard the same thing about using krill oil instead of fish oil because of mercury.

I still think vitacost has better prices although I don't know the potency of the brand you priced at $23.36 60ct.

Here is the one I get:

On another note, maybe eating sauerkraut and kimchi could eventually help you to reduce the dosage of probiotics

Haha Laura.

I work two jobs and have to speak to people all day/night at both.

I can smell kimchi on someone's breath from across the room.

It makes my eyes water.

I would never want to do that to someone.

I'll stick to the probiotics.

I ended up ordering from both Vitamin Shoppe and Vitacost and still spent $160.99-not the $125 I was hoping for.

I had to buy 2 pkgs of cheap Newman's Own cookies to get free shipping from Vitacost and Coconut Oil from Vitamin Shoppe to get their free shipping.

I'll just sell more stuff on Craigslist to make up for the loss.

I actually sold $215 worth of stuff last weekend on Craigslist by getting rid of stuff I no longer use.

Every little bit helps.

Whoa thanks for the warning!

I love the taste of kimchi
Guess I'll just stay home alone with my jar of it!
