Had Igenex test a few years ago...overall negative but 12 bands with + or IND.
Dealing with painful neuropathic (burning skin/tingling on contact) insomnia and tinnitus for over 5 years now.
Had 2 month tx several years ago with no improvement.
Was wondering IF there is a better test today? I read some press releases for 'Advanced' Labs, anyone else use them/their tests? How did the results compare with Igenex? Will their test more likely show an 'old' infection?
Not completely sure Lyme is my problem, but always wondered about the 'equivocal' Igenex result and wondered what a subsuquent or different test might show?

I like IGeneX- both for quality and price.
There are other labs, and newer tests, but "new" doesn't mean better.

Did you maybe not get adequate treatment? How old was the infection at the time of treatment?
It seems like your IgeneX would support Lyme disease.
We are in treatment with a good ILADS doctor.
Some docs will do an antibiotic push before IgeneX testing.
Good luck!

Good question about 'adequate' treatment? I DID have 6 weeks of IV Rocephin and some subsuquent oral meds. NO improvement to neuropathic pain problems - in fact, I developed additional areas of burning about 1 month AFTER stopping the antibiotics.
I am really OK other than MAJOR neuropathic pain issues. I can think/fuction/don't feel sick, but am really struggling with burning/tingling skin, most severely in soles but also over MUCH of the rear of my body. Gabapentin does almost nothing to help

"... but am really struggling with burning/tingling skin, most severely in soles..."
However, I did have 2 weeks treatment (I think Biaxin?) back in 2008. Within 1 month of that antibiotic, I developed burning over back along sping and rear of legs that continues to the present along with burning soles/shins/hands.
What is the best and/or most affordable test for Bartonella?
It seems Bartonella has mostly neurological symptoms and ALL of my symptoms are purely neuro, so very suspicious of this? Can Bartonella lay dormant for many years?
BTW, I had extremely elevated levels of EBV from LabCorp and very low Vitamin D in a 2010 test.
Thanks for any experiences and suggestions.
