Now ive been on meds ten days but i noticed the last couple of days the worst of my symptom is fatigue and muscle weakness but even the headache today is minimal.
Hope the meds isnt working already. Maybe its got all the babes already?
any thoughts for those of you who are pros at this. Thanks graneet
Good to hear you are feeling a bit better!
Yes.. they do cycle.. and you may already be feeling the good part.
NORMALLY the herxes hit on the forth and 30th day...
So hang onto your socks...
It may not be over yet!
Good luck though!
Thanks for answering me Graneet

I mostly felt lousy pretty steadily for the next 3 months, although it lightened up little by little. Now I'm feeling pretty good.
I took a short med break. When I started abx again I had some fatigue (nothing compared to when I started this protocol) and some headache. And my sleep gets completely messed up on this protocol. I don't know whether it's the meds themselves or die off. I'm guessing both, simply because of the sleep problem.
My husband is still noticing very definite monthly herxes, but no way to tell if thats Bb or babs. He gets sweats about once a month, very mildly. He got very tired, sore, and spacey when he started back on meds.
I don't seem to cycle nearly as strongly as he does.
We've been at it almost 4 months. I'm on for another 2, since I seem to be at the asymptomatic stage; the hubby probably longer.
Good luck.
I did clindamycin and quinien for 6 months. The only thing it did for me was give me intense head pressure, neck pains, migraines and vertigo. Once in a while though, those sypmtoms would break.
I just had to realize that for *me* stopping and starting was not the answer. I had to back WAY down on my meds to feel good, but if I stopped and started, it seemed like I was continously putting myself though a herx and it wasnt fun. I once told my LLMD that if I stopped abx at the first sign of a herx, I would never get on them.
They did cause a lot of fatigue and pain in my upper legs right above my knees, and the back of my legs burnt like heck walking up stairs.
oddly, when I went off the clindamycin and quinine... I did something against my LLMDs wishes. I snuck in a twenty day round about two months after quitting clindamycin and quinine of clinda and quinine
and I didnt stop or break the herx. My symptoms of babesia have not returned since.
Go figure!
I think the reason Dr C rotates the meds is that you won't let the Lyme get the upper-hand while you're on the babs meds, and vice-versa.
Also, I think the babs meds can be hard on the body, and you need to give it a rest. HA! Some rest, when you go right back to Lyme meds!
I herxed WAY too hard on the clinda/Q, so be careful of not backing off the meds when you herx severely. I found myself in the ER twice because I didn't back off.
Glad those days are behind me!
Good luck and keep on keeping on, Graneet!

I am glad i did herx tho least i know the babs was an issue as all you good folks kept saying all these years.
Just cannot for the life of me figure why the two number one docs in pa wouldnt treat it all these years. Maybe i would have been better by now who knows. Better late than never tho.
Woke up feeling that tiny bit better feeling again and im so glad. Was afraid i was gonna end up doing like i always do with meds . Get a big bang at first then nothing but yuck the rest of the time.
Im also so thankfull the meds are not as bad as i was told they would be on me.
Thank you for your responses

I am tickled pink you are FINALLY getting treated for Babs. I think of all the treatment I had.. this made me "see the light". It made the biggest improvement of all the things I did.
Babs is a bad one around our area.. and not many folks (doctors) are paying attention to it.
The herxes for me were NASTY as get out.. but afterwards.. for the first time EVER... I started having SUCH good days it was unreal!
Sooooo.. I do hope after the nasties that you improve too! You will LOVE it!
Hopefully your nasty days will be minimal due to the schedule you are on. I would love to know if you get the real goods and not a lot of the icky stuff.. cause I MAY want to try that schedule myself.
Please keep us updated as to how you do... ok?
Hopefully you will be dancing soon!
