When should I be careful taking it?
Before taking atovaquone/progaunil,
Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Atovaquone/proguanil HCl or any other medications.
Tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking, especially tetracycline, metoclopromide (Reglan), Rifampin, herbal products, and vitamins.
Tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney or liver disease.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding.

What side effects should I watch for?
Minor side effects from Atovaquone/proguanil HCl are common. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
Stomach pain
Nausea/Vomiting/Diarrhea
Headache
Loss of strength
Loss of appetite
Dizziness
Itching
If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
Swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, arms, or legs
Difficulty breathing or swallowing
Rash

PS do make sure that you take it w/ a high fat meal. peanut butter works well.
Oh I didn't know that one. Ive been on Malarone for awhile now. Switched from 4 or 5 months of Mepron to Malarone, and it seems to be working.
