The BEST doctor in the world for treating children with Lyme is Dr. Jones in CT.
If this were my child.. I would crawl if I had to to get them there to see him.
He has treated THOUSANDS of Lyme children.. and has had great success.

Dr Jones is treating my 12 yr old grandson & he is a wonderful physician.
It takes a while to get an appt but your local doctor can consult by phone with Dr Jones to get info ASAP.

My pediatrician consulted Dr. Jones last week with western blot results and apparently he did not think my two youngest were bad enough to treat.
Just how bad does it have to be???
I was not impressed!
Dr. C saw the results and said they were signifigant so I am sticking with him. He is doing great with the rest of my lymie family!
Others have had wonderful experiences with Dr. J so perhaps consult both doctors to see which works best for you. From what I have heard these two are the best available!
These little ones need to be treated before they become seriously ill. Don't wait until it is too late.
We almost lost our oldest son to an "unknown" infection on his third birthday. He spent two weeks in the hospital on oxygen and iv too weak to even sit up on his own.
I don't ever want to go through that nightmare again!
Go where ever you need to and do what ever you have to, to ensure that this little guy gets the treatment he needs!
And don't rely too much on testing. The tests for this disease are not very reliable.

Hi and WELCOME! Get a LLMD or at least Dr that is willing to learn about lyme. Borrelia Burgdorferi is a clinical diagnosis, based on symptoms and on your response to treatment. Good Luck, bumpy road ahead.

No you don't always see a bite and if there's no bullseye the only way your going to be able to tell is (symptoms) and (((Maybe))) WB or lyme dot blot 3 day urine banged with abx's to free your antigens up for the test.

Help with Meds
She has an appoint with Dr. J in October and I spoke with him over the phone last week and his office sent out kits to test her for Lyme and co-infections.
I'm worried about sending up a red flag with the insurance company if we do the testing.
I fear they won't pay for the tests and if the Lyme test comes back "negative" that they won't continue paying for her meds.
I know she has Lyme because she had the rash and I'm worried that she may have a co-infection as well.
It's a shame that we not only have to worry about the disease and our children, but also worry about insurance issues as well.
I've decided to get tested as well because I'm nursing my 5mos old.
But I have to admit -
I'm interested in the child's well-being, so I'm wondering what you decided to do.
How serious are his symptoms?

Who will you see about your Lyme testing?
You probably don't need reminding, but be sure the lab is one of the best for TBDs.
