I am having tummy troubles as far as it hurts and I don't really feel like eating because I am afraid I will get sick. Any suggestions on soothing the tummy?
I am currently taking zithromax 500 mg and plaqunil 200 mg. I just started flagyl 5 days ago and wasn't having tummy trouble until then. I hate to take a abx break at this point because I really need the cyst buster medicine after 13 weeks on IV rocephin. I starting taking prevacid tonight but was wondering if something else might help sooth my tummy, so I don't feel like I am going to upchuck, until the prevecid kicks in and starts helping.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Stacie

try sipping ginger tea...

or heat pack on your tummy

or gentle yoga
cat and dog stretches...gently with breathing
puppy stretch
add up and down dog if you get relief with the others

Hope you are feeling better soon

spddrv,
Me too. It started today and it feels like I will be sick but then nothing. I am sipping bitters and water and taking lots of papaya tablets. Ginger is also good for tummies.
Good luck,
Blessings,

Ugh, I hear you. I am on 500 mg of Zithromax, which I don't handle too well. I am not good with any orals. But, my MD wants to really hit the Babesiosis hard.

I lose my food minutes after I eat it. My nurse is very concerned about dehydration so, I am drinking lots of water with electrolytes, ginger tea and taking bitters. I also take psyllium and bentonite to help soothe my tummy and bulk me up.

I am to talk with my MD about the Zith tomorrow and see if we might back off on the higher dose or go the IV route.

I hope we all feel better.

Slippery elm bark. Buy it at your local health food store. Coats and soothes.

DGL.

It's licorice specially prepared so that it doesn't raise blood pressure. VERY good for sore tummies. When I used it, I could get the Zith down on an empty stomach with no bad effects.

Make sure you let it dissolve in your mouth so it gets mixed with lots of saliva.

There are good studies that it is very helpful in healing ulcers.
