Yes, she's doing very well right now on Dr. J's tx. My daughter's been over a pretty rocky road and down a very slippery slope before we finally connected up with Dr. J. Now, after having been under his treatment for just under 2 months time, it appears that she's well on the road to recovery. If all continues to go as it is going right now, she should be off abx in approx. 6 weeks time (total time on abx by then will have been ~8mths). As far as I'm concerned, Dr. J's face should be carved into Mt. Rushmore.
I'm sorry, but the other questions you asked are impossible for me to answer. With Lyme/Bartonella no one could possibly know which way it's going to turn. Same with any of the other Lyme/coinfections combos.
Dr. J is optimistic in our daughter's case, but he has made it very clear that things could turn without a moment's notice. Still, it wouldn't be the end of the world. Her case would have to be re-evaluated and tx would be adjusted accordingly. That's just the way it is in the Lyme world. Ya just nevah know....!
But for now things are going well and that's all I can possibly hope for.
Do you have a child with Lyme/coinfection?
His latest med change has been off the bactrim, off the rif and back on zith with plaquenil....the ankle pain might well be some hidden lyme ketes that the zith stirred up, so the zith is going back in after it....here's hoping....

She's been on this combo for 10 months and doing wonderfully.
Most of her life she had numerous bartonella-induced psycho-rage-behavior episodes (we always thought something medical or mental was wrong, but didn't know what it could be...) Poor thing, she used to say she didn't understand why she acted that way
She would be fine one minute and hysterical biting, kicking, screaming things that didn't make sense the next minute, ... As she got older it became clearer that she couldn't even recall what had just happened...like she was possessed.)
Dr. Jones immediately thought of bartonella and, yup, she was positive. Slowly (after 3 months or so) we began to notice she was having less and less of them. And now, thank God, 10 months later, she is one little sweet happy even-tempered little girl.
After 9 months Dr. Jones put her on Flagyl and Zithromax (to target lyme) and we haven't retested her for bartonella yet. Assuming it's gone...hoping...
