No really we are having a dinner party on sunday and it would be nice...
to have a drink

I don't know what responses you will get, but with me-since LD treatment, and with LD, if I ever have a glass of wine, my face gets numb, and I feel really sick!
Could it be the nitrates? I very infrequently drink a mixed drink....-no reaction, except I feel like I have had 2 or three drinks!!!!-even that is on the stupid side with my meds....ah-the good old days when we could have 2 drinks without any repercussions!

I drink soda water with lemon or lime.
It looks good, tastes good, and you fit in.
I was never much of a drinker.....and although I'd love a good dark beer once in a while, I like getting better more than drinking.
The prospect of getting well really makes not drinking no big deal.

Try getting virgin drinks. They have non alcoholic drinks that come in wine bottles. Maybe that way you won't feel left out.
I haven't had any alcohol since I got LYME. Dizzines and a drunk feeling was one of my first symptoms (much better since babs treatment)I can just imagine how will I feel if I try any alcohol.
I don't know what meds are you on, but you should not drink any alcohol AT ALL if you are taking flagyl. Pour some water on a fancy glass wine and pretend you are having wine, I do that many times and since I am dizzy already it feels like I am drinking a glass of wine.

I saw a few people who snuck a bottle of Pino into the theater!
So I'm assuming you don't mean anything with sugar in it!?here was my reply, Heather! http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum2/HTML/002370.html

The biggest problem is that it doesn't taste right since the tetracycline has screwed up the taste of various things. It made coffee horrible tasting and undrinkable which made it easy to quit my once favorite beverage. Wine sometimes tastes pretty bad too so after a few sips I don't want any more.
I'm generally very strict about the anti yeast diet so maybe that is why a little wine doesn't cause trouble for me. I think there is a cumulative effect to cheating so if you have a little wine, and a little bread and a little dessert expect trouble.
Heatherkiss you could try a little wine and see what happens. If you feel awful then your desire to drink will vanish pretty fast. If you feel OK then you can have an occasional treat (but absolutely not if taking Flagyl). From what others are saying it might hit you harder than usual so make sure someone else is driving.
