Heatherkiss, you lush!

I don't know what responses you will get, but with me-since LD treatment, and with LD, if I ever have a glass of wine, my face gets numb, and I feel really sick!

Could it be the nitrates? I very infrequently drink a mixed drink....-no reaction, except I feel like I have had 2 or three drinks!!!!-even that is on the stupid side with my meds....ah-the good old days when we could have 2 drinks without any repercussions!

I have not had a drnk since I suspected Lyme. Thats over a year now for me.

I drink soda water with lemon or lime.
It looks good, tastes good, and you fit in.

I was never much of a drinker.....and although I'd love a good dark beer once in a while, I like getting better more than drinking.

The prospect of getting well really makes not drinking no big deal.

Be strong,
robi

I had 1/2 a glass of Chardonnay last night and felt pretty drunk. I used to be able to drink quite a bit. My right side went completely numb. Not sure why. I haven't really had any alcohol in over a year, except for an ocassional sip at a toast. Better safe than sorry.

I had one glass at New Year's party. Had the worst hang over (lasted for two days). I felt horrible.

Try getting virgin drinks. They have non alcoholic drinks that come in wine bottles. Maybe that way you won't feel left out.

Hey H!

I haven't had any alcohol since I got LYME. Dizzines and a drunk feeling was one of my first symptoms (much better since babs treatment)I can just imagine how will I feel if I try any alcohol.

I don't know what meds are you on, but you should not drink any alcohol AT ALL if you are taking flagyl. Pour some water on a fancy glass wine and pretend you are having wine, I do that many times and since I am dizzy already it feels like I am drinking a glass of wine.

Did you see the Movie Sideways? Is that what this is all about?

I saw a few people who snuck a bottle of Pino into the theater!

robi......"soda water"? Where I come from, that means Coke, Dr. Pepper, or what yankees call POP! So I'm assuming you don't mean anything with sugar in it!?

here was my reply, Heather! http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum2/HTML/002370.html

I occasionally have wine with no particularly bad results.

The biggest problem is that it doesn't taste right since the tetracycline has screwed up the taste of various things. It made coffee horrible tasting and undrinkable which made it easy to quit my once favorite beverage. Wine sometimes tastes pretty bad too so after a few sips I don't want any more.

I'm generally very strict about the anti yeast diet so maybe that is why a little wine doesn't cause trouble for me. I think there is a cumulative effect to cheating so if you have a little wine, and a little bread and a little dessert expect trouble.

Heatherkiss you could try a little wine and see what happens. If you feel awful then your desire to drink will vanish pretty fast. If you feel OK then you can have an occasional treat (but absolutely not if taking Flagyl). From what others are saying it might hit you harder than usual so make sure someone else is driving.
