My main symptom is gnarly insomnia (for many many years). Only recently dx (to my great surprise popped up CDC positive and everything) with Lyme and Babesia
Am trying "other stuff" right now, but want to know - can anyone report that a certain abx or a certain combo really helped with their sleep?
THANKS for any info!

Anyone else? Good sleep on certain abx or abx combo?

Love your name - thats my favourite dessert!
As far as the insomnia...I found it got much better after the mepron/zithromax combo the first month.
I am finding zithromax and doxy together help a lot.
I think just getting the abx load down with the ones that seem to kill the strain you have will help. I find when I herx the insomnia comes back a couple nights but nothing like it was before tX.
Good luck and take care!

Sleep disturbances are part and parcel of the lyme experience for me. I never had insomnia til lyme...Now it's a constant companion.
Good luck!
Is Levaquin used to tread Babs?

I was waking up every five minutes from pain. Also had sinus problems I wasn't aware of...I am one tough Hillbilly, I could push the pain away during the day--I didn't even know I was in pain. But the doctors could tell from the alpha waves when I had my sleep test--I was getting no REM because of pain. Just be sure you are going to sleep "some" when you go--it is a bummer when you don't sleep any and waste your quarter.
Have you checked out Artisinin >. That stuff rocks and really makes the buggers MAD. DIE, DIE, Die!!! Oh, sorry...

Yes, levaquin can help with babs, but needs to be combined with flagyl or tinidazole for best effect.
I just started using Lunesta this week and so far so good. Lorazepam is my favorite, but developing a quick tolerance, thus using higher doses is a big risk for me.
Physiological dependence on benzodiazapines is rotten when it comes to withdrawl. Withdrawl can last up to a year, so it's an absolutely miserable experience. Narcotic withdrawl is a walk in the park in comparison.
I will use lorazepam but only occasionally when there is no other hope for sleep. It's a God send when all else fails, but I'm very cautious.
Seroquel makes me a zombie for two days, trazodone is better, but not by much.....
