1. Are there ANY preparations of silver available for purchase (at a reasonable price) that are definitely NOT harmful to the body????
2. Is there DEFINITIVE research available that I can review which demonstrates the internal effectiveness and safety of silver against bacterial infections????
I really like the idea of taking this but I don't want to hurt myself by swallowing some swill of heavy metal!!!

Give me a sec and I'll repost a thread.
The key (for me) is 250 ppm MSP taken every 2-3 hours. Taking it via the sinuses seams to increase the effectiveness.
This is the kind I took there are different kinds and from my research this is the one I thought sounded like the best.

That would be nice but it will never happen. Silver cannot be patented so nobody is going to bother doing expensive trials if a golden goose can't be had.

The Silver Supplement Fraud
Rosemary Jacobs, the most popularised argyria victim, who is used to demonise colloidal silver, was poisoned more than forty years ago by "silver nose drops of unknown composition" (NEJM, 340(20), 1999). There are no cases of argyria in modern medical history as a result of electro-colloidal silver, despite its popularity. All reference to toxicities, on careful checking, leads directly to industrial exposures or abuse of orthodoxy sanctioned, now discontinued medical silver products, usually not even colloidal silver and if so, always by a defunct grind method, and in cases of severe toxicities, intravenous injections in gram-plus quantities in animal experiments (US EPA, Integrated Risk Information System, ``Silver'', 1998). The key to the safety and efficacy of modern colloidal/ionic silver is its atomic and sub-atomic particle size and hence greater individual number and total active surface area.
The question regarding scientific research is that Dr. Burgdorfer, who the Lyme bacteria is named after, himself did a study which I think is published, demonstrating that a silver preparation he used is highly effective against the Lyme bacteria in a test done outside the body.
After years of suspicion given the obvious quacksters that were in the business hawking their shody logic for it's efficacy, I decided to look at Dr. Burgdorfer study seriously, since I have met him and have a sense that he is a genuine, frank individual regarding matters of Lyme. Insurance also cut me off from my heavy antibiotic treatment, so I needed an alternative. I studied up on what information was available about the toxicity (ie argyria), and it's likelyhood, and went about preparing my own silver with extreme care and caution in how I did it.
After 3 weeks of being on it, I noticed that the reduction or abatement of my symptoms correlated very closely to the use of my self-prepared colloidal silver solution. Actually, it was as effective if not more so than 4.8 million units of intramuscular penicillin injections which I was taking previously on a weekly basis. But, after 6 months, and careful monitor of how much silver I was ingesting, I decided I had reached the limit of what I was willing to ingest for silver, based on EPA studies that I read.
It was a very successful intermediate treatment for me, but didn't cure me (I've had lyme for over 10 years). I believe that people should do more research before deciding that it's quackery, as indeed given my personal experience with it, it appeared very effective.
Keep in mind that everyone's body is different and without proof or solid statistics to support a probability argument, the stakes in the argyria gamble are probably higher than they are in the penicillin gamble. But, if I ever run out of options and am morbidly sick, I will certainly go back on silver with confidence of it's ability to reduce my symptoms signficantly.
BTW, I don't sell silver. The kit that I used to make it cost $10, and someone gave it to me, I don't even know who made it. I did however buy my own silver wire from a reputable source (which I also forget) to try to ensure it's purity.

My doctor recommends a solution of 20 ppm--not extremely high, but not dangerous. Can't remember the brand name, because I am not ready for that avenue yet.
