I am getting so tired of posting about weird/bad things happening....

Today I looed in the mirror and it looked like my right upper eyelid is drooping slightly. I confirmed this with my fiance as I thought I was going crazy.... When I looked to see what this could be the only thing I could find is Ptosis...

I did a search on here but I could not find much about it, have many of you experienced this? Is it permanent? Could a herx do this, I have been on abx for a week and a half now...

Thanks for any info you can provide, I am trying to see how common this is in lyme since I dont have a definitive diagnosis right now, just a really strong clinical one... When reading the medical documents on this condition they mention eye tumors causing this, which is damn scary cause I have optic neuritis in this eye..... I has a CT scan and it looked clear, I assume something like that would have showed up right? I have a MRI next week......

Bob, I've had what sounds similar to what you describe since long before Lyme dx and treatment.

Haven't looked up the name you gave, but I always attributed mine to (1) consequence of encepholapathy and pressure within the skull and/or (2) edema in the eyelid not allowing it to fully retract.

Since being on abx's this symptom seems to show up especially with neuro herx.

I have a lot of vision/focus fluctuations which could indicate some motor neuron involvement also.

FWIW

Could also be Bell's Palsy - I got Bell's Palsy right before I was diagnosed with Lyme.

Hi Bob. I so hate the stress you're having. I know you will be one relieved dude to see that western blot come back!

Drooping eyelid is a symptom of Lyme.

Here's a little link to an exhaustive list of Lyme symptoms. Ptosis is in there too, with a citation.

It could also be part of a herx.

Expect all manner of weird stuff to pop up when herxing -- it really can get worse before getting better, but just hang on and have faith!
