My daughter will be 19 in March, has had Lyme since 1998, being treated since Jan 2004. Also tested positive for mycoplasma last year.

Yesterday, she had a grand mal seizure.

Our PCP thinks the seizure may have been caused by the abx she has been taking (omnicef, minocycline, plaquenil) and wants to stop them.

We can't reach her LLMD until Monday. Any advice, experiences related to this would be appreciated. Thanks.

So sorry to hear about your daughter. I have small seizures and got them with Lyme before going on antibiotics, but I have neverhad a grand mal seizure. It must be frightening.

Wish I had advice to offer, but I will pray. Hiker

I don't think a couple days off meds will be too damaging. It might even help if this was triggered by herx. Think the LLMD should have the final word. And if you stopped in the meantime, it would make your pcp feel better, more likely to be supportive in the future.

How frightening!

Isn't there a way to reach the LLMD in this kind of emergency??
Through an on-call service or even by speaking to one of his staff who might refer something like this to him?

I sent you a private e-mail. Yes I have had the experience and it is quite scary!
