Mostly plant-based diet is anti-inflammatory. Helps with cancer, auto-immune diseases, cardio vascular diseases, etc...
Anyone knows if it's good for Lyme?

I'm not sure about lyme. It strengthens the immune system so that is bound to help.

Hi there,
Thought I'd respond to this post. I used to be on the high protein (mostly meat) diet.
Was having alot of headaches from inflammation and decided to try a vegetarian diet.
I still eat fish, eggs and dairy and my headaches have improved alot.
I'd heard that flesh diets increase inflammation so I decided to switch.
The headaches I'm referring to are vascular in nature and not due to Lyme encephalitis.
I take duretics and potassium for fluid around the brain.
Was worried to about my colsteral increasing on a mostly meat diet, so now no worries. That's a huge plus.
As to the low fat diet, just avoiding meat has lowered the fat content in my diet alot.
I also take alot of vitamins and drink 100% grape juice no sugar added, one glass daily.
Hope this helps.

I've been infected for 25 years.
Most of my life, I've chosen (by instinct) to follow a mostly vegetarian diet. The infection was kept at bay. I suffered only from migraines and joint problems.
No way to be sure if the vegetarian diet helped.
During my pregancy 3 1/2 years ago, I started eating meat and fish (anything for the baby). A year later, I was at the end of the road, thinking that I was dying.
No way to be sure if the non-vegetarien diet caused the symptoms to develop.
It certainly wasn't the only reason (stress, low immune system, pregnancy, to name a few).
I'm back to mostly vegetarian (some eggs, shrimps or chicken when I feel like it - never more than 2-3 servings/week) and feel much better for it.
I believe a vegetarian diet is a healthier alternative, on so many levels.
