I have had similar seizure-like episodes. It seemed like every time I'd wake up I'd experience something frightening and different. Either the exp. you described, or inner shaking, or extreme anxiety, or electric shock feelings, or a blank mind, etc.

After about 5 months of abx therapy everything cleared up.

Sounds like sleep paralysis. A form or narcolepsy. I had them when in an active untreated infection. Mine went away with amoxy. They were my least favorite symptom (like any are favorites ) and I had plenty of nasties, so I feel for you. Just try to say calm and you come out of it.

I've heard several here who experienced that. Could be from herxing.

Be sure that if you get retested that you go off the abx for at least two weeks.

I had both paralysis and seizures when my disease was at its worst.

Like Jay, mine happened in the first two months I was on an antibiotic. For me, it seemed like a herx reaction, as too said.

All brain MRIs were normal.

These symptoms went completely away after several months on antibiotics.

They're really scary, though, and I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Hang in there; it does get better.

Hi Help.
Probably the hardest part of beginning treatment with abx is what went on with my mind and body.Anxiety I had before spun wildly out of control. All of my physical ailments came roaring back with a vengence. The fear of, have I made a bad choice with abx, hung over my head.

If your family is having a hard time understanding see if some hard information will set them straight. My husband would pull up some info on the herxheimer reaction and he would read it to me.We had several books on hand that also addressed this. This did two things for my family 1.It calmed me down so that I could care for myself and my daughter.2.It reminded my husband that this is a real experience we were going thru.In time we would be over the worst of it.

And finally I came to this board and one or two others where people are on an abx protocol and dealing with herx and other problems associated with chronic infection.

I hope you have a doctor that is experienced with this sort of illness. That is key to getting not only your health back on board but your family too.Drink alot of water with lemon in it and if your on abx and responding keep your doc informed of your situation. Some docs will let you back off a little so you dont herx so badly.Take heart if your body is now clearing the infection then the worst part should hopefully be behind you soon.God Bless RG
