For those who have been dx and treated, how long did it take for your photosensitivity and tinnitus to subside??

The photosensitivity about a year... I was unfortunately not treated with stong enough, long enough, or even the correct abx initially though...
Eight years down the road I still get tinnitis...
You may fair much better than I...zman

Hi Jka
What meds are you taking?-Jay--

groovy, I haven't been diagnosed yet, waiting for the igenex results to come back. Why do you ask?

jk, did you get my 18 pages of newbie links/advise; I talk about the special NOIR sunglasses to buy to help you and other stuff.
They were probably asking since if you have lyme and treated with doxycycline antibiotic, it makes your eyes even MORE SENSITIVE THAN WHAT THEY WERE TO BEGIN WITH.
Mine were/are still at 200% MORE sensitive than the "normal" person! All light/glare/reflections are like looking directly at the sun.
I've had this for 36--44 years! It has NEVER for me gotten any better. My story is in my newbie's advise I send all newbies when they come here. Bettyg Posted by hatsnscarfs (Member # 6562) on :
My photosensitivity lasted for approx 2 years. Suddenly last month during my 26th month of treatment it went away. Hooray!!!
I received inadequate treatment my first 4 months and got much sicker. I also was given prednisone for Bell's Palsy. This depressed my immune system and may be part of why my recovery is taking a while. I have made a huge amount of progress though.
While photosensitive be sure to have sunglasses, hat & scarf at all times so you don't get fried.

my light sensitivity went away around the 3rd month mark of treatment...I was so sensitive, blinking holiday lights gave me migraines.
Started ABX treatment in Sept. 03, by the time of the holidays, I could tolerate the festive lights.
No problems now, do get eye fatigue if in bright sun for long periods, but I attribute that to the squinting.
