I am experiencing similar situation on Rifampin and Cipro.
Valium or Ativan are what help calm my nerves (literally---the buzzing and tingling) so I can sleep at night. No amount of advil or other NSAIDS will do the trick.
Can you get to a doc to get a script? Some others have tried low dose Elavil...that stops me up(constipation).
Sometimes a hot bath helps. sometimes it can worsen it.
SOmetimes herbal teas work.
THere are lots of other sleep aids, but I have only had success with the anti-anxiety meds for my nerve pain. hope it helps, trails

I have had peripheral neuropathy off & on for 6 months. LLMD says it neuro lyme. Some abx (flagyl) make it worse.

I have peripheral neuropathy throughout my whole body from Lyme and/or coinfections. It's been one of my worst symptoms.
Neurontin is often prescribed for nerve pain but I became too tired on even the tiniest dose and had to give up.
I have been on a few different abx, it hasn't changed it, but I have heard that Flagyl can cause it - haven't been on Flagyl yet.
I don't have any words of wisdom, just empathy, because it's so hard to sleep with it.

You can try Cymbalta for PN. I use it for mine and it has worked great.

When my neuropathy was worse I took Topomax and Elavil at night and it seemed to mellow the nerves a little. Thankfully with treatment these symptoms have become more sporadic rather than constant.
I had tried Neurontin but had trouble with being out of it and weight gain, Topomax was easier to tolerate and more effective for me. I think everyone is different.

I treated my PN with the Photonic Stimulator, a near infrared machine made by Bales Scientific. I prefer this to taking yet more meds.
Contact the manufacturer for a practitioner in your area. Treatment costs vary. I ended up buying one because I use it regularly to treat myself and family for varying conditions.
