That's scary.

I'd associate a swollen tongue with an allergic reaction. (but what do I know?)

You did the rightthing by going to the ER.

Call the LLMD in the morning, if you ahven;t already and don't take anything that you don't normally until then.

Rest up, detox if you can, drink lots.

I hope you feel better in the morning.

Me too. The heat across the chest is pretty strange too. Doesn't sound like a Lyme symptom. Generally, a herx would include a symptom known to be associated with Lyme.

Hope you are feeling better soon!! I'm so glad you called 911!

I had allergic reactions to antibiotics as a child so I'm always on the lookout for possible allergic symptoms.

I was told they usually include something such as swollen tongue or lips, itching, rash/hives, breathing problems.

You did the right thing.

I had essentially that same reaction to keflex years ago, and I was told it was the early stages of anaphylactic shock... I was told never, ever to take a cephalosporin again, or it could be deadly.

I'm glad you called 911 -- that sounds really dangerous.
