hi,

that's part of what I have and refers to the progressing destruction of the myelin sheath around the nerves, leading to neuro symptoms and nerve pain.
MS is considered a disease, where the body eats away it's own myelin sheath (auto-immune reaction), lesions can be seen on MRIs. I am from Germany and that particular strand of Borrelia (B. Garinii) loves to attack nerve cells. I think, the bacteria attacks your weakest spot, no matter where you're from or where the tick is from.
MS was my first dx, but I have Lyme.

Take care,

Sonja

Are you talking about PLS? Progressive lateral sclerosis? It's like ALS but happens over many years instead of 3-5 like ALS.
