Is anyone taking coconut oil as part of their lyme treatment?
Do any of you herx on coconut oil? How effective is coconut oil of borrelia?

I began taking it for yeast after reading posts here about it. My doctor then gave me a write up about the benefits of coconut oil. Seems he is a big fan of it as a "healthy oil".
I love it. Rub it on my hands, eat it (only the extra virgin - others taste kind of nasty) and I have thick, coarse, fly away hair, so I rub it on my hands then on my hair and walla! My hair lays down and is very shiny. Not greasy at all (but that is because I have dry hair)
I cook with it too. It is much hardier than olive oil (I only use olive oil on salads, bread, etc. It isn't good to cook with olive oil.) Coconut oil does not get rancid like other oils and can be kept outside the fridge.

PS: Supposedly you will lose weight eating it, but I have not personally experienced that.

i purchased some after reading a little bit of whats his names book...the one who wrote the great physcians rx.
didn't know it was good for lyme too.
i was eating a teaspoon of it straight from the can for awhile.
use it instead of oil when cooking once and awhile.
have some receipes that call for coconut oil have to be doing pretty good to be able to make receipe and melt oil before adding to ingredients etc.
guess i have not used it enough to know if it is having an effect on me or not.

I have tried the coconut capsules, but I get a really upset stomach from them. My LLMD told me to use it like lotion instead, to avoid the stomach problems. It makes my skin really soft too.

Interesting.
I have skin problem that I think is caused by Bart or alike.
If I resolve the skin problem, I'll be cured.
Would like to try some.
Where to get it?
Thanks.

Going to try and get in the habit of taking 2 or 3 tsp a day too.
The coconut oil I have is not in liquid form.

i have read that coconut melts or becomes liquid when above 79 degrees ( or close to it) Mine is white and hard.

I used to use coconut oil as part of my supps but can't stomach it any more. I am now using coconut milk taking monolaurin. I take them for yeast, virus & immune system boosters. I Have not noticed a herx from them. But that doesn't mean much.
