Does anyone have a good protocol for "maintenance" meaning, I just want to feel as good as possible each day. I don't believe I'll be cured, I've been doing this for a decade.
I'd like to try Biaxin, 500 mg 2 x a day. I tried amoxicillin, 1500 mg a day, and it did nothing, symptom wise.
Any advice? Thank you in advance.

The folks at www.cpnhelp.org do an interesting maintenance. You could check over there. I think they do two weeks a month at first and than taper to every two months...??? not quite sure.
I know it consists of two weeks of doxy and zith m/w/f with flagyl thrown into the mix the last 5 days.
But do note this is only after they have done the abx for at least a year (or longer) and are feeling very well.

Dear Search
My doctor says we must correct 4 things to be well and healthy.
Mind - negative thinking stress Chemicals Biotoxins Alkalinity
The body can do a fabulous job of dealing with issues and keeping us healthy if we nuture the body.
Once you have knocked down the bacterial load, it does no good to keep taking the toxic drugs and in fact, begins to do harm.
Find a doctor affiliated with ACAM to help you bring your body back to a state of health and keep it there.

I think maybe ya need more than maintainance?

Thank you for the helpful information.
As far as needing more than maintenance, I've already been thoroughly treated, enjoyed "remission" for a few years, and just want to get back to that with a maintenance dose of antibiotics.
I don't believe I can be cured with the knowledge out there now, but I will keep searching for answers. I'll share what I find if I can see anything promising out there. I am interested in the salt/vit C protocol, but it doesn't seem to do anything but make people feel a little better.
One other issue, my spleen showed either a "hematoma" or a "parasitic sack" when I had a CT done of my abdomen. The doctor was SURE it had to be an old bruise basically, because I would have been really sick (which I was) and would have had to travel to a third world country to get a parasite that would cause that.
I'm in a state where there is NO help for lyme patients, there isn't a doctor here that won't laugh at the idea I could have lyme, despite a positive test from Igenex (and interestingly enough, a negative test from the ID doc here).
Anyway, I haven't thought about a parasitic infection before. I'll search the site for info people have posted on that, but maybe there is a natural protocol for parasites?
I'm keeping a positive attitude, it helps that biaxin alone knocks out my symptoms, but I don't know for how long it will.
Thank you all again. I'm going to repost the spleen/parasite question, so it won't be burried here. Posted by Health (Member # 6034) on :
What about seeing a NEW....
LLMD?
Maybe there is someother treatment.
Try seeing another LLMD if you have not.

I really would love to be under the care of an LLMD but I'm in Washington state and not one exists here. I don't have the funds or the will to travel to California, I did for my initial treatment and I did go in to remission for a few years, so I think I'll just try the same treatment again. Is there anyone on this board from Washington state?

If you're interested in alternatives, which it sounds like you are, you could see someone associated with Dr. K school of thought- he's a naturopath who does a lot of teaching. His information seems really strange (I have a hard time with it!) but he has a really good track record with difficult cases. www.neuraltherapy.com is his website for his workshops, and I'm sure there's some way to find an affiliated doctor from there in Seattle or thereabouts.

I didn't find your separate post about parasite cleanse.
My doctor had me do a parasite cleanse and this is how.
1 bottle Ecletic Institute's Intestinal Cleanse. When bottle is finished, take 1 week off then do a 2nd bottle.
During this time, be sure you have at least one bowel movement daily to keep the dead parasites from clogging up the colon.
