It has been awhile since I have written but rest assured I have been reading here and there. My llmd did another lyme test on me after my first one from my primary care 2 yrs ago.
I would like some input. My llmd thinks I don't have fibromyalgia, depression etc. He believes it is from the lyme. I am do to see him at the end of the month.
IgM Western Blot
18 +++ 30 + **34 + **39 IND 66 +
IgG Western Blot
**41 + 58 +
I have never had a positive by CDC or Igenex. So do I have it, is it recent, old? Help, would like your opinions.
Thank you so much,
Karen

Looks consistent with Lyme. No real way to tell old or new. Get a CD57 next.

Thanks Scott,
I have never had a CD 57. I will ask him when I see him at the end of the month.

Or call/fax him now to get an order, do the test, and then discuss the results at the end of the month when you see him... Posted by CaliforniaLyme (Member # 7136) on :
CD57 is expensive and certainly not diagnostic!!
And the doctor who discovered its utility saved my life!!!

Thanks,
How expensive is the CD 57 test? My money situation is not to great right now.

Around here it can run a couple hundred- that is a lot to someone like me! And it was useless with me- helped with my daughter but not regarding diagnosis.
Look, if your doc thinks you have Lyme- that is what matetrs.
Re testing- negative tests do NOt mean you don't have it and all that a positive antibody test means is that at SOME point in your life you had it!! Does not mean it is active- HOWEVER- you have ACTIVE symptoms and assuming your doctor has done all the necessary differentials to rule out other things then you have Lyme!
The good news is- I know plenty of people like myself who have gotten rid of things like fibromyalgia completely with longterm abx. My fibromyalgia is 100% GONE and I am so glad because it sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope yours goes away too- Best wishes, Sarah in CA

The opposite can also be true. I have seen IgeneX tests that were very negative and yet a CD57 of 30 which the LLMD also then used to support a diagnosis.

Where are the prices for the igenex tests? I only see ones if you are getting a tick tested. What if you are getting yourself tested? Posted by WildCondor (Member # 434) on :
Call up IgeneX and ask about the prices. Posted by CaliforniaLyme (Member # 7136) on :
But CD57 is NOT diagnostic!!! Yes, supportive, but so is any nonspecific symptom... Bottom line, Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis. The tests suck re diagnosis for Lyme, CD57 included! If you have had a thorough Differential Diagnosis and had everything else ruled out and are symptomatic, that is what matters-

You can get the IgG and the IgM from Igenex for around $200. It's worth every penny to find out if you have it!! www.igenex.com
Karen....If that was MY test result, I would continue treatment! Definitely!!
from the above link: "The significant antibodies, in my opinion, are the 18, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 39, 58, 66 and 93."....Dr C of MO
39 is specific for Lyme! Absolutely!! An "IND" is a weak positive!

Thanks to all of you,
Right now I don't think I can afford the test. Everything else has been ruled out by my primary care. My llmd calls it positive because of my symptoms. So I will continue on with treatment and hopefully soon start to feel better.
Right now I am not on any abx. I am on cumada, adrenal support, parsley detox, burbur, amantilla, pinella, trace minerals, wobenzym N, Magnesium malate. I will be taking quina, algas, samento, and banderol later on into the protocol. My llmd is giving me a break from abx.
