I followed a lead not too long ago on B-12 absorption (thought it could be responsible for muscle spasms). In addition to testing levels of B-12 and malonic and homocysteine acid (which should be low if you are absorbing B-12), I also had my Dr. test for anitbodies to parietal cells (those that produce instrinsic factor in the stomach) and intrinsic factor itself. Intrinsic factor binds to B-12 making it readily available for absorption. Since my body is attacking the intrinsic factor, I can't absorb B-12, so I have started B-12 injections. This is another set of unexplained antibodies in my system. I have also repeatedly tested positive for ANA (anti-nuclear antibodides) which are usually found in rheumatological diseases (although they ruled them all out). It is almost as if my body is so confused that not only is it producing antibodies specific to Lyme, it is producing other antibodies that are attacking my body by mistake. Anyone else tested positive for strange antibodies other than those to Lyme?

Yes, I was literally allergic to the world.

Dr. LC is treating these problems today with LED (Laser Energetic Detoxification). I wish it had been available when I was still ill. It is a lot easier today than some of the methods available then (NAET, etc.)

I had a positive ANA. I guess the body gets confused about what it is fighting.
Lots of different autoimmune diseases seem to spin off from lyme and co's.
