I followed a lead not too long ago on B-12 absorption (thought it could be responsible for muscle spasms). In addition to testing levels of B-12 and malonic and homocysteine acid (which should be low if you are absorbing B-12), I also had my Dr. test for anitbodies to parietal cells (those that produce instrinsic factor in the stomach) and intrinsic factor itself. Intrinsic factor binds to B-12 making it readily available for absorption. Since my body is attacking the intrinsic factor, I can't absorb B-12, so I have started B-12 injections. This is another set of unexplained antibodies in my system. I have also repeatedly tested positive for ANA (anti-nuclear antibodides) which are usually found in rheumatological diseases (although they ruled them all out). It is almost as if my body is so confused that not only is it producing antibodies specific to Lyme, it is producing other antibodies that are attacking my body by mistake. Anyone else tested positive for strange antibodies other than those to Lyme?

Yes, I was literally allergic to the world.
Per Dr. LC who says it much better than I can:
"It is a key finding that many chronically ill patients develop auto-immunity toward their own neurotransmitters, their own hormones, their own endocrine glands and their own organs. This often happens because a man-made toxin such as a pesticide, herbicide, solvent, heavy metal or other chemical binds to the organ, gland, hormone receptor or neurotransmittertoxin receptor, subsequently causing a hapten reaction in which the immune system identifies that toxin-issue, toxin-hormone or neurotransmittertoxin as being foreign. After that, the immune system continues to attack the altered self.
The toxin causing the auto-immune response can be easily identified with kinesiology." (Explore Mag. article www.BetterHealthGuy.com)
Dr. LC is treating these problems today with LED (Laser Energetic Detoxification). I wish it had been available when I was still ill. It is a lot easier today than some of the methods available then (NAET, etc.)
Take care.
