I recently started having symptoms after finishing a long treatment for Lyme (a year of antibiotics) because all my symptoms had left me.

Its been 2 months since stopping and now I have lots of joint pain, sinus and respiratory infections, feel really depressed and almost paranoid at times, no interest in sex at all, becoming forgetful.

I'm so scared its back again. I don't see my LLMD until the 11th so I sit and wonder until then trying to keep a positive outlook. I feel I need a support group now more than ever.

There is one very close to home. What kind of things can I expect at a support group? Do my symptoms sound familiar to all of you that have had recurrences?

Kelly

I was wondering the same thing!

Support groups are awesome! I attended one many years ago for chronic illness and one for Interstitial Cystitis.

Was too sick during Lyme treatment to attend one for lyme!!

Praying that this is not a relapse for you!!! [group hug]

Symptom free for about 3 months maybe a little less

Clarification: Was symptom free for 2 months prior to the stop of the antibiotics. Plus 2 months after stopping. Hope this makes sense

Bummer. That stinks!!

So much for the "two month" theory! Were you treated for babesia?

I think that is why my LLMD does a "remission challenge".

Once you are symptom free for two months on antibiotics you stop daily antibiotics.

Once a week for three days you do the following protocol.

Day one - 1500mg of flagyl

Day two and three - 1500mg of biaxin

If no herx, then continue this once a week for two for three months.

If you remain symptom free without herxing, then bingo, you are officially in remission.

If at any time you herx, back on meds you go.

Hugs,

Geneal
