I have no idea about the extract, but I've read that grapefruit juice is bad to take with alot of medications. Or at least some pain medicines. Anyone have any more info about this? Another Question: Is anyone taking Lyrica? Please send me comments about it. Thanks

You can find patient experiences with Lyrica here:
Do not take grapefruit juice if you are taking terfenadine (seldane) or astemizole (Hismanal) due to the possibility of fatal cardiac arrhythmias.
Basically, grapefruit juice can intensify drug potency and as a result also the side effects of certain drugs. Grapefruit juice also can interfere with the metabolism of certain drugs and the unmetabolized drugs can be toxic causing serious reactions.
Medications That are Affected by Grapefruit Juice Use (There may be others):
Losartan (for lowering blood pressure) - Grapefruit juice inhibits the body's ability to absorb the drug. Digoxin (for treating congestive heart failure) - Grapefruit juice inhibits the body's ability to absorb the drug.

A pharmacist would be a great source of information to know if grapefruit interacts with Lyrica or other drugs. Hiker53

Grapefruit juice impacts the metabolism of certain drugs that are supposed to be extended release so the entire amount of medication enters your system at once. That leads to an overdose.
I decided to just stay away from grapefruit and grapefruit juice because I take a number of supplements and meds. It's easier to stay away from that one food than check everything for an interaction.
