I have been on amox and doxy for about 2 years now and others before that. I have been taking antibiotics for about 6 years now. I also take numerous supplements. My hair is falling out like crazy (started about 8 months ago) and I don't feel that I have gotten any better in all this time other than my speech. I have quit taking my meds to see if my balance gets any better. When is it enough? I don't mean to sound so negative but I am almost at a give up point!

Hair loss is a symptom of Lyme. If your balance is bad you are neuro Lyme. I was on orals for a year and they did nothing for me. Neuro Lyme often needs IV or IM. IM Bicillin is only once a week shots and safe-

Some people stay chronic for life- what you
are on may just be keeping you from getting progressively worse- doesn't mean it is not working- if you are neuro it can be a lot
worse than just balance issues- the orals may be keeping you from getting a lot worse- I would ask your doc about something stronger-!!!

Best wishes,
Sarah

Have you had your thyroid and adrenals checked recently?

Another thought - 6 yrs and not any better - perhaps you missed treating coinfections (along with detoxing fungi, heavy metals, and addressing mineral imbalances). If you have an untreated coinfection, it could definitely hold you back from getting well.

Yes, I am and have been treating my coinfection, babs.I get blood work every 3 months and everything has tested good. I do have mono that came up on my blood work about a month ago. I see my lyme doctor every 3 months also. I am lost as what to do next. My insurance will not pay for IV treatment.

daisylynn, i went through these things 6 years ago. had a lot of hair loss, crawly sensations, anxiety, shaking chills when warm, etc. felt really lousy at times. had low temps a lot; was hypothyroid-still am today, but doing better. recently did some artemesia blend and it seemed to stop some sx. the book Healing Lyme by Buehner has protocols for treating co-infections like Babesia. my hair stopped falling excessively when i worried more about nutrition issues and got off the antibiotic bandwagon. try using a good mineral supplement, especially magnesium oriented. it does sound like an adrenal issue; mine were messed up 6 years ago big time.

I started losing my hair 3 yrs ago. Devastating to say the least. But this past month, I've not lost ANY hair. The only thing I'm really doing that I never did before is juicing.
I believe I was lacking many nutrience and now my body is getting them and my circulation is better because of it.
That is the only thing I can think of that can be the cause. I'll keep you posted.

I can't handle more than about 3 or 4 days of antibiotics anymore - any of them - before I give up. I don't think I'm able to get rid of toxins effectively, living in an area with a high magnetic field due to power lines and cell phone towers.

Maybe try EDTA? I just restarted that - along with artemisinin and quinine powder tea. EDTA is supposed to unclog arteries and so forth. It's worth a shot.
