Hi there.

I used Igenex Lab back in 2004 for the 2 strains of Bart that they test for.

My test came back negative.

Like alot of folks I haven't really recovered since treatment. (Have Lyme and coinfections).

Think Bart is holding me back.

I've done 5 months straight of Levaquin/Septra/Tindamax and recovered only temporarily.

Did really well back in 2005 when put on Cipro/Biaxin/Flagyl but was only on it for a month or two.

After being put on something else I relapsed.

What are you all taking and how many times a week, what strenghts and for how long?

Seems like everytime I start to made some headway my LLMD will cut me back to 3 days a week and everytime I've relapsed.

Been looking on the Internet today and see that Doxy/Rimfapin is a often mentioned combo for Bart.

Treatment is for at least 3-4 months and sometimes longer depending on if there's heart involvement.

Some sites mentioned lifelong theraputic treatment.

Any thoughts on this?

Igenex missed my Bart back in 2002 so I was only treated for Lyme.

Fry picked up my Bart in Sept 2007 and I've been on a combo of zithro & Rifampin for over 2 mos.

I'm herxing like a mother...but I think that's a good thing. We'll see...

Hi there,

Thanks for the replies. It sure is hard to figure out what is going on when not recovering to well.

Are you all taking your meds every day of the week or only on some days?

How long is your treatment suppose to be?

Everytime I start to improve my LLMD will drop my meds to 3 days a week.

I've relapsed every time.

I'm on five days/wk. Can't really say I'm getting better overall.

Starting to wonder if I might have a coinfection, but I had tested negative and don't have any of the classic symptoms.

Oh I should add the 5 days/wk is for Lyme.

Fry lab is good.

They also picked up my Bart.

You may want to check for the biotoxin gene, too. That kept me staying sick, as well as the missed Bart diagnoses from Igenex (you need to test Bart at Fry labs!!)

http://www.biotoxin.info

This could be another reason why you're staying sick..has to do with die-off from the Lyme that may still be circulating in your blood.

Also do a search in medical forum for biotoxins.

Good Luck and trust your instincts!
