I was just watching Dave Letterman tonight and he said he had an imbedded engorged tick on him tonight that they noticed when getting dressed. His makeup person removed the tick. Dave showed the audience the tick and he said the head is still in him. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll see now if he thinks Lyme disease is a big joke.

Ok, he just said, "Ooh I think I'm getting feverish." Yep, it's still a joke. Grrr.

Grrrr! Now he just pulled a big rubber spider out of his pants, (pretending to be a tick).

Audience laughs, ha ha, very funny. Yes, Lyme disease is such a freaking joke. Man this just ticks me off.

Geesh. The jokes just keep coming. I bet he has antibiotics waiting for him as soon as he gets off the show.

Not sure what his problem is, but he sure likes to make light of the situation.

Ever since he did that skit last year making fun of this disease he lost me and many more viewers.

I did write a letter to the network but never got a response back.

I will never ever watch him again and I will not buy any products that were hawked on the show.

Walk a mile in my shoes........

Ironically, I heard somewhere that he HAD Lyme Disease.

Maybe he's overcompensating because I also heard that he didn't want togo public with this information (?)

Whatever it is, it really is inappropriate.

OH yes, he's had Lyme disease before. I guess the abx worked?? or maybe his bizarre behavior is coming out from the old case of Lyme??

Oh, wait! He's always had bizarre behavior!! [Roll Eyes]

Augh, I wish I would have seen this...

He wouldn't be laughing about it if he knew what we all go through day in and day out. He's lucky that with his first bite the abx probably worked (he probably got treated right away).

One of these days he's not going to be joking about it anymore.

I'm wondering why he's making fun of lyme disease in the first place? Anyone know why? I don't see the funny factor in it...

I wouldn't take his jokes personally and if he indeed had or has Lyme, laughter is the best medicine. Sometime a much better medicine than the drugs we are given, especially in terms of quality of life! I crack jokes about my own case of Lyme all the time. Helps me cope. See my note elsewhere about renaming it the "Borrelian Plague" to get it more attention.

I credit Mr. Letterman for causing the Bush Administration to backtrack on something they denied - about the only time they have admitted lying actually. It had to do with some video of Bush giving a speech and behind him in the audience was some bored to tears kid nodding off. The Bushies said this was photoshopped in - until the family of the boy's stepped in! They had to retract their statement. Thank you Dave!!!!

Who cares about some kid nodding off? I'd nod off to one of Bush's speeches as well especially if I was a kid because I wouldn't understand all the technical terms, etc. Kids fall asleep very easily...

I can't imagine why anybody was watching letterman to see the tick stuff in the first place...even at his best he's neither funny nor talented...

Shame on Letterman. His show is a waste of time anyway.......he's not the least bit funny.

Well for those who think he was just being his cheeky self might have missed his last piece of crap spewing out of his mouth about TBI's. Here it is from 7/07,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8yVbbgixLg

He states TBI's are over diagnosed. RMSF is nearly impossible to get and found in the west.

Yeah he's so funny!

I lived in Maryland pretty far from the rockies last time I checked.....a tick I pulled of my husband tested positive for RMSF.

This butthole is not funny in my book, to each his own.

He lives in New Canaan CT - right in the middle of tick central. Given the exploding tick populations + ever more toxic stuff in their gut it's just a matter of time before he or his family get really sick.

I don't wish it on anybody but he'll finally realize the odds are better than 1 in 200.

It's not shocking that he's making up statistics, he used to make up the weather in his early days as a weatherman in Indiana.

I wish Letterman the best. I don't watch him often. Rarely actually. I like his sense of humor. I hope he doesn't loose it due to a nasty tick.

He's already been thru the painful shingles episode, which limited his ability to work not to long ago.

That is so disgusting that he's making statistics up. That gives us a bad name, but also puts other people at risk because they'll believe him and think it's not something to ever worry about.

I thought I'd bring up this post, as I found it when I was searching for the recent post (which no longer exists) on Letterman's lyme.

I guess Letterman learned the hard way about engorged ticks. I bet that tick was the one that has made him sick now. The timing is about right.

Has anyone heard any more info on this?

No, I was just wondering about it myself.

Hope someone has some scoop.

What happened to the more recent post?

Posted by yanivnaced (Member # 13212) on :

I started the more recent thread on Letterman.

It somehow magically disappeared, I don't know why.

I didn't know Letterman was sick?
