Hi there, I'm wondering how often most people take Florastor? My doc originally said to take it once a week, but the bottle says 1-2 times a day, so I have been taking it twice a day, plus I raised my amount of probiotics last week, and I think my body is rebelling. I need to figure out the right dosage of both. What is the norm for this stuff? Thanks! -karen

My llmd told me to take one pill every other day.
My naturopath told me to take one pill every day.
I take one every day. It's a bit pricey but I feel it is worth it.

I take 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening (instructed by my LLMD).

Some people can't tolerate the Florastor. See other links on that subject here on Lymenet.
IF you're taking a "regular" probiotic, it's usually taken at least twice a day.

Thanks, why is there such a difference in the dosages from doctor to doctor? And what are the symptoms if you can't tolerate it? I think maybe twice a day was too much for me, so am going to try to do it every other day and see how that goes. -karen

Twice per day for maintenance, 4-9 per day for active c.difficile.

Every doctor has their own opinion on how much is "right."
I think those who have trouble report digestive upset the most.
