Hello [Smile]

Been treating my Lyme dx for 7 weeks (IV Rocephin/Orals) without improvement...I know 7 weeks is NOT very long, but cannot afford more IV. I have a clinical lyme/bart dx...Igenex Lyme test had 12 bands showing IND or +.

Is there anyone else with a truly positive (Igenex/Labcorp etc) Lyme test that currently has ONLY neurological sx's?

Mine are only neuro (nerve pain, tinnitus, insomnia, minor brain fog)...but all of this came on a few years after sx's others describe here.

Just truly confused as to what is causing my sx's since I am otherwise pretty healthy, I am NOT sick, just something has caused problems in either my central or peripheral nervous system and still not improving.

Thanks for any thoughts, experiences? Take Care, MBB3

I think you really need to test for Bartonella because that is really what causes a lot of the neuro stuff.

Perhaps attacking Bart with the appropriate drugs would alleviate some of those symptoms?

I'm on mesosilver (1 tsp a day) and even THAT's hitting the neuro stuff...so that may be a route to take.

I've always been primarily neuro. Any physical ailments were fairly minor and were relieved by IV rocephin and treatment of Lyme.

I would deinitely take a look at Bart.

Best,

U r right 7 weeks isnt that long. Just so you know it took me 7 weeks (of rocephin)before i started to see any improvement at all.

I think at least most of my symptoms now (probaly all of them - there is quite a list) are some part of my nervous system not working right.

I have lyme/babs. Some things I can definetely say are the babs for me (particularly the stuff that seems to come from my autonomic nervous system misbehaving).

I havent had any expereince dealing with trying to get rid of bart but if you ask others with it i think i have heard it can be stubborn.

I hope you find someting that helps. If you can't do iv anymore there are still orals or bicillin injections.

Best wishes

What abx have your tried for the Bart? Many people say Levaquin has helped w/ their Bart issues, but has some side effects.

Have you been tested or treated for babesia? I have had a lot of neuro issues from babs.

Plus, like you said seven weeks is not long. I have been at it for almost two years! Not to scare you, but it takes a while to start feeling better.

9 months, slight improvement, all neuro. Well, not all, but the rest of the stuff is easy compared to the neuro.

Still looking for my magic bullet....I;ll find it, you too.

Hubby's main issue is also neuro...major brain fog.

Yep, most of my symptoms after the initial acute infection have been neuro, not arthritic. Doxy helped the brain fog.

Thanks for the replies...

Seems like 'Brain Fog' is pretty common. I too had this for several years before I had ANY idea what might be wrong.

To be honest, the brain fog is pretty tolerable compared to the physical neuro problems, at least in my experience.

Hoping Bart tx eases some of the nerve pain eventually?

Thanks, MBB3

Ditto -

Lyme and Bart. 95% neuro. 10 months of treatment. Neuro stuff 95% gone! Lesions on brain also resolving per MRI...

Hi Narrowpath:

What were your neuro sx's pre-treatment? What was your treatment protocol? How long were your infected before dx?

Sorry for all of the questions, but love to hear success stories!

Take Care, MBB3

My lyme symptoms have been probably 80% neuro, and 20% rest of body system wide. I have some occasional arthritis, and rotating shifts of gerd, chest, etc.. but most of my crud has been brain related..
