Lyme for sure. Band 39 alone says so.

Have you read Dr C of MO's WB explanation?

I don't know the answer to this, but is there a value in following WB testing over time?

Let's say, for example, a person has a clearly positive WB test with multiple IgG bands and undergoes treatment. Since the WB looks for antibodies (not the pathogen), what is the value of repeating the test multiple times?

At some point, wouldn't it make sense that the bacteria would be cleared, but the immune system would still have circulating antibodies (like people do for a lifetime after vaccination, exposure of EBV...etc).

I'm not trying to question the diagnosis. Based on your story LD is a near certainty. However, is there a value in repeating the test multiple times (especially since it is not covered by insurance) if it isn't reflective of anything?

I wasn't trying to insult you or be dismissive. Hopefully you didn't take it that way. Your answer makes complete sense. I guess that's the reality of medicine these days... [Smile]

So, I guess if a single test ever comes back negative, they will declare you "cured" regardless of persisting symptoms, claim "post lyme syndrome" AGAIN, and ship you out? I hope that doesn't happen. I guess, in that respect, having continued positive results (until you feel better) is the best-case scenario.

From Dr C's explanation:

"Band 39: Unknown what this antigen is, but based on research at the National Institute of Health (NIH), other Borrelia (such as Borrelia recurrentis that causes relapsing fever), do not even have the genetics to code for the 39 kDa antigen, much less produce it. It is the most specific antibody for borreliosis of all."

Yep, you have Lyme.

Why didn't they test for band 31????

JesseSapp... no Its just annoying that they keep trying to get a negative out of me,but they wont research to see that it probably wont ever happen.... so they can keep spending the money, lol thanks again!

reynolds,

[group hug] [kiss]

please go back to every post and REMOVE BOLD CODING marks when you chose to use "" ... read below please; thanks [Smile]

NOTE: you do NOT have to use "", just show the name of person you are responding to, and then type your comment.

IF you need to use "", PLEASE DELETE "BOLD" CODES so it's regular type text we read vs. the DARK, HARSH/PAINFUL BOLDING.

specifically, delete the first 4 characters of 2ND LINE of a ""

[QB] just delete these 4 characters, and BOLDING is GONE! my eyes will really appreciate that; it's one very bad side effect of my having lyme for 38.5 years!! xox
********************************

then go to left hand corner and mark box to receive ALL REPLIES, and click EDIT SEND

we thank you for helping us; [Wink] otherwise, we will SOB, SCROLL ON BY, since we can't read to help you. If I see posts like this, I SOB them; to hard on me. I'm also in the early stages of losing my eyesight from diabetes retinopathy. [Frown]

Lyme & Bart [Frown]

What's Tgacil?

I haven't heard of that one for Bart & Lyme?

[confused]

I just looked up Tygacil - Tigecycline.

It sounds interesting. I wonder why I haven't really heard of it being used. Please let us know how you do with it.

from what i've read somewhere, the 31 band isn't taken too 'seriously' i guess you can say

because that's the band used to make the lyme vaccine.

so, cdc doesn't care if you're positive or negative.

I suppose because for all they're concerned, you had the vaccine and that's why you came out + for 31kDa.

.... [confused]
