Can Anyone share a thought Why I would be Given Ceftin rather than the typical Doxy ?

This is what my LLMD prescribed me...

I never asked him that but I feel I should at least ask you people here, maybe someone knows ???

Please help.

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Eric

I could be wrong, but you asked for thoughts not facts.

I think I remember reading that Ceftin is or can be specifically for Lyme B., but because it is so expensive it isn't always prescribed.

See below, I am on Doxy and Ceftin, and it is a tough combo.

Ceftin tastes awful! I sometimes make my own capsules, so I take the tops off 2 00 size, which covers the tab so I can get it down without tasting. Very helpful.

hi janis,

i dont mind the taste, i take it with tea or v8 juice,

as long as its killing those little buggers inside me, i wouldnt even mind if it tastes like s**t.

hehehe...

but now as a combo with doxy, wow thats heavy duty.

how long have you been taking them both together ?

also do you take them at different times apart or same time ?

[confused]

I was taking 100 mg Doxy twice a day for 3 months prior to my first appointment with LLMD, who said "Let's give you enough doxy to do some good", and also prescribed Ceftin on November 24th. Take at same time, hope that's OK.

Makes me really nauseated if take on empty stomach, so have to force myself to eat in the morning so I can slug em down.

Had follow up visit 12-31, no change. As of now have 3 refills remaining on each.

Like you, I want to kill the little beasts so love his attitude. It has been rough, but since I want to move on down the road will deal with it.
