OK so I think the biaxin/plaquenil combo is used to treat babesia, is that correct?

If so why do some docs choose this combo over another - say mepron/zith, etc. other than drug sensitivity/allergy. Is one combo better than another?

New at this, many 'dumb' questions may follow - but am learning little by little as brain allows!

Yes it is generally used for Babs.
My doc chooses this protocol and then moves on to malerone/zith...

not sure why.. Don't think one is better that another, just another option. One might work for one person and then the other might work for another.
Good Luck!

Also, the Plaquenil makes the Biaxin work better against the cell wall deficient form of Lyme. It would work some against babs, but generally you would add Malarone or Mepron to that combo.
