I've been reading the boards a lot trying to gather as much information as I can so that I can properly support my wife. She is very hopeless and from reading many posts it hard to gather just how much progress anyone is making with their treatment.
I think it would be useful to gather some basic information to help assess or develop examples of what people have done and how much progress they have made. We are 1 year into treatment and it can get very discouraging when you are not getting the results you are expecting or hoped for.

Also it would be a good way to lay out different protocols that people are doing so you can compare and stay aware of all the options out there so that you can stay informed as much as possible.
Here is our story to date....
Date Diagnosed: Fall 2007
How long had you had Lyme: 10 years estimated
Treatment protocol to date: Tindamax 500 mg 2x/day - Jan 08 to June 08 June08 - Dec 08 - Artemeisan(sp) and cats claw and other supplements December 08 - Feb 09 Doxycycline 400mg 2x/day and Ceftin 500mg 2x/day Right now just on Doxy.
My wife also does 2-3 Far-infared sauna treaments per week along with at least 1 salt bath. She also speed walks 9-12 miles per week (very determined). She also takes a whole host of other supplements, eats mostly organic and doesn't consumer very much sugar.
Percent better: 10% (maybe) it really depends on what day you ask this question.

I am fairly new to this Lyme thing. I have had it estimated 20 years, (Im only 29)
I can't give you too much insight on treatment because Ihave just started. I am on Biaxin and Plaquenil.
I wanted to respond though, to tell you how wonderful I think it is that you are supporting your wife this way!
Allot of families are not as supportive (mine included) and I think its great that you are!

jason, i understand where you are coming from.
however, our enemies, idsa, monitor our boards also so it's best NOT TO GIVE TREATMENTS of which meds and DOSAGES they recommend as they will use the state info where you are from to narrow it down to this llmd does this and this md does that.
then someone will file CHARGES using that state's health dept. like the charges being held on conn. dr. jones, kids llmd; 3rd year of hearings at $100,000 a month for him to pay his lawyer for all their services!
so please don't list the meds here, etc. you can do this by PRIVATE MESSAGE with the sender but NOT ON PUBLIC board.
go to your profile; on right side read down thru the 6 choices; read AGREEMENT provisions; i believe it is covered in there stating what i mentioned above. can't remember due to neuro lyme.

Has your wife been treated for Parasites and Worms? They are a MAJOR part of Lyme disease.
What sort of specific treatment would a person do for that? She has taken so much stuff over the past few years it's hard to keep up.

Jason, I used Humaworm. Also oregano oil, uva ursi, and plant tannins. Enula by Nutramedix also helped.
Has she been tested for heavy metals?
I have had Lyme for 35 years. Treated for 2 on abx/herbs/antimalarials. I did combinations of abx, usually several at a time. Felt good as long as I was taking them, crashed when I went off them twice.
Went to Germany for Bionic 880 treatment last Oct and have been using it ever since.
