Hi everyone,

I was just wondering how many people here would consider themselves recovered after taking antibiotics and have not really relapsed?

How long were you on the antibiotics until you felt almost/or fully recovered?

Fortunately not many will be responding!

Hopefully they will be out and about.. with Lyme as a thing of the past.

So PLEASE don't get discouraged if you don't see many people still here saying, "I'm cured!"

They were here before and are now gone. Thank goodness!

BTW- Approximately 40 percent of those treating with the standard IDSA garbage guidelines have been shown to relapse.

At least that is the "official" count.

almost everybody here on lymenet has relapsed after stopping treatment, to varying degrees. It's just a matter of restarting treatment each time it happens.
But as time goes on the severity of each relapse should diminish and the occurrences should get less frequent. Eventually the relapses should stop, or be very low grade such that the immune system can do it's thing and put it out without the help of abx or herbs. One reaches this stage when quorum sensing mechanisms like biofilm have been cleaned out.

Yep, yep! My relapses are becoming less and less severe.

The big Dr B is one who recovered using abx, after a few relapses and re-starting abx.

The people who are cured are no longer hanging around here, with the exception of a few dedicated souls who are committed to helping those of us still sick.

I do not consider myself curred but am in remission. I did take only abxs and supplements. I am 95% up the hill.

I will be wrapping up only two years of treatment next month and feel sure there will be a relapse at some point. My LLMD feels the same way and only has me on Doxy. at present and maybe forever as a maintance.

I live in a epidmic area, had ten bands postive, many other poistive blood test indicators, and had a yes answer for many of the listed symptons.

I belong to two support groups and bring what ever info I can about this life treating epidmic.

I have expressed my deep down thoughts on why I have responded so well to treatment and do not plan on leaving the LYME issue after climbing this long hill. I believe my case was for a reason, to help educate, bring awareness, and a form of better treatment and test for LYME.

The above could become much harder to get done as the LLMD who has made this challenge possible is lying on the tracks and the train has left the station. I can only hope for a derailment.

I think it depends on a few issues...

how long you have been ill

how long after you were exposed did you start treatment

if you have other co-infections

what your genetics are

how well you can tolerate long abx courses

whether you can afford the medications & doctors

Some people just can't tolerate the long treatments with abx so they have to find other ways.

Hopefully, the drugs will work & you won't have to look for other means to get well.

80% on most days now.

went from completely dibilitated.

unable to walk or talk. literally.

it can be done.

high dose multi class oral combos.

IV if necessary. i did one year.

comprehensive treatment is crucial.

EVERYTHING must be addressed.

I am recovered from lyme, babs, and bart. Stopped antibiotic treatment almost 4 years ago. Have NEVER relapsed.

I went up the "food chain" of lyme docs until I found one who knew enough to cure me.

Spent 2 years with lesser docs until I found this guy. He cured me in 1 year using the Burrascano protocol.

Total, I took antibiotics for slightly over 3 years continuously.

After about 18 months, I was symptom-free. But, I could not stop antibiotics without getting sick & back to square one within 2 weeks. That's because I had never been tested or treated for co-infections.

Final doc did the Igenex tests, found the coinfections I had, treated the lyme with a cyst-buster (first doc to do that for me) and then treated the bart, then the babs. Case closed.

I hang around to help point others to the good docs. The doc is the key to recovery. And obedience of the patient, of course.

I have real confidence that my LLMD is one of the best and I will get better.

My LLMD was disabled for 5 years, in a wheelchair and unable to work, and now looks very healthy.

His wife was also very sick, as well as his 2 sons. All have recovered. No wonder he is a great LLMD!

I would say I qualify! I've been off abx for 4 1/2 yrs and do not feel I have relapsed. I've had other health issues, but don't herx when taking abx.

I took abx for 4 yrs.

Lymetutu is using Rife to keep symptoms down, if I remember well. Does that mean remission?

I'm off abx for lyme for years. I only took a bit of them, not even a month in all I think...

Am I in remission? No. I've been on and off remission though, but now I'm fighting active infection.

People that need doxy or amoxy forever to be in remission, I wonder, is this REAL remission??

In my opinion, there's a big difference in being symptom free WITH MEDICATION or HERBS or RIFE or whatever treatment you are doing, and being in REMISSION, meaning, in my view, ZERO treatment for lyme bacteria or lyme symptoms and STILL being symptom free for months or years.

I may be wrong, but that is how I see the terms 'remission' and being 'symptom free'.

Both are EXCELLENT because life can go on well, but they are not interchangeable in my opinion.

I hope you can get the active infection under control. Maybe it will take just the right combo and dose of meds to help you.
