Just wondering what you all do for depression? I keep thinking it will lift but it hasn't. I feel overwhelmed and sad every day.

I'm sorry to hear about how you are feeling.
For me, various antidepressants just made it much worse. I think that if lyme is the underlying reason you can expect the depression to lift as treatment helps.
Be sure to have good liver support for a sluggish liver can cause depression all by itself.
Vitamins (especially B vitamins) and minerals (especially magnesium) - and fish oil - helped a great deal. Some herbs, too.

This book, by an ILADS member LLMD, holds great information about treatments options and support measures:
Keebler is right.. as usual. Toxins from a die off can make you feel very depressed.
Lyme can make you depressed too. Very common.
Have you considered trying IV Glutathione pushes? Works wonders for me to remove toxins. Mood improvement immediately.
Hope it lifts soon. Be sure to tell your doctor about this.. in the event they have suggestions. OK?

Depression, Anxiety and other mental problems are often associated with inflammation. Unless you have a prior history of depression, you can be fairly certain that is the case now.
I do not have Lyme, but have Crohn's disease. I accidentally resolved my depression while treating Crohn's. I took 1500 mg of Ginger and Turmeric twice a day to knock down Crohn's related inflammation and unexpectedly removed all traces of my lifelong depression.
I have since found out that mental problems accompany most all inflammatory diseases.
If you knock down your inflammation, you will likely find your depression will be gone also.
We have a group on depression on www.lymefriends.com. We also have a great suppport network and nightly chat there. Please come join us!

Easy, I take anti-depressants. Lyme really does a number on the brain. I hope you will consider it!

Thanks for the advise. My liver enzymes have been elevated so I do need to be doing more to
detox. Well, today I'm actually feeling much better. I started a list of things I want or
need to do each day (exercise). It is helping because I'm so scatter brain that I always
forget what I need or want to get done each day and usually get so overwhelmed that I just lay down and feel frusterated.
My husband tried antidepressants himself (he has lyme too) and he was totally out of it! This
was before we knew he had lyme. It got so ugly that he took off in his truck when family
confrontred him (we thought he was on some illegal drug) slept in his truck ...the police
had to talk with him. It was crazy! he almost ended up at public health. He was takin off
antidepressant and got back to his old self. He was taking Lexapro and the doc kept upping the
dose because the depression was not lifting. So crazy life has been the last two years...

Once ounce of very dark chocolate a day helps keep my mood up.
I finally got up to an 85% - it's not very sweet but just enough.
Organic is best.
If you do a search for author Alan Gaby and depression, you will see that he has a vitamin protocol.
