Just wondering if anyone else ever craved sugar.

I try to stay away but for a few months now I've been craving sweets.

It makes me feel uneasy and I hate it. Ideas?

One of the best tips I have ever read that works for me was from the book Sugar Busters.

I eat peanut butter on a healthy cracker such as Triscuit or eat peanut butter alone.

I think its pretty common to crave sugar with this disease.

I have knocked out my yeast and still have desire for sugar at times but nothing like I use to.

Hi rebecky,

It's very common. The bacteria thrive on sugars.

I have found that the cravings are alot less frequent now. I have been avoiding sugar/high fructose corn syrup for 2 years.

The more you eat sugar, the more you will crave it.

I satisfy my sweet cravings with yeast free whole grain seeded bread with a big dollop of Manuka honey.

I swear its frickin addictive. Not sure if its a yeast feeder or not but Dr B says you can have honey so screw it. I need something!!

Manuka Honey is well renoened for its antibacterial properties. Expensive stuff though.

I am pretty sure that dark chocolate is an antifungal and antioxidant.

Has to be at least 70%. Anyone have any info on this? I eat a lot of it and used to herx from it.

NO! Never me.. never ever!!!

(liar, liar, pants on fire!) [Big Grin] [lol]

Craving sweets is a BIG indication of yeast! If you're not following the low carb, no sugar diet, you WILL have yeast while on abx. No doubt.

Laurisa.. be careful of too much yogurt. Most of it is full of sugar. Read all labels.

Come on Gael. He0rxing from Chocolate. Pull the other one!! LOL [Wink]

If chocolate kills lyme then I am going on that protocol [Smile]

I did used to use 70% dark chocolate but I still found it to give me yeast issues.

When I eat it I crave it. That means it aint good for me in my experience.

Well, NMN,

If it is an antifungal which I am pretty sure it is, then why wouldn't it cause a herx? A lot of things can make you herx that you might not be aware of. Don't discount it so easily,

Gael

If you have any kind of chronic infection, or allergies, or even a cold, certain cells will be in constant stimulation mode. Sugar is a simple form of carbon, which is energy for cells. The body will crave for sweets to obtain this energy supply. Microw

Wow, thank you everyone. I feel much better knowing it's caused by something you know?

I have a feelingw hen I have my first visit with my LLMD in two weeks, he's going to put me on one of those anti-yeast diets.

So I might as well eat the candy while I can?

I can't wait to start treatment!
