Fighting Lyme for 20 years was too easy so I decided to get this one too!
Papillary Cancer of the thyroid, several locations.
I have no idea if this is related to my MP experience from 2004 to 2006. I know others have voiced concerns so I am adding my data.
I'm seeing the surgeon tomorrow and complete thyroid removal is in order. Prognosis at this point is good.
Advice from other thyroid cancer survivors is appreciated.

I'm not a cancer victim, but I wanted to tell you I know someone who had thyroid cancer, had her thyroid removed, did some kind of chemo/radiation (don't know which, but lost her hair), and is fine today. She was really sick. It took her a while to get the thyroid meds balanced, but like I said, she's doing well.

Check out Low Dose Naltrexone as a Cancer treatment, and more importantly a preventative.
My mother had her thyroid removed 10 years ago for the same reason.
She sees the specialist (endocrinologist, I think) twice a year now. I forget if she ever saw the surgeon after he was finished. Probably not.
She has done very well. I wish you the same outcome.

Just wanted to add my prayers too...I'm so sorry you're having to deal with that on top of Lyme. Is your Lyme under control right now? Keep us posted.

That type of cancer has a extremely high rate of success. I had a friend who had it done years ago and she is fine.

Thyroid cancer is associated with myasthenia gravis, which can be induced by certain meds including antibiotics from what I remember.
You might want to look into medicinal mushrooms. Many of them have really potent cancer-fighting properties.

I've gone downhill pretty fast in the last year and now it looks to me to be more thyroid-related than Lyme. Severe energy issues, lots of walking problems. Yet my blood tests always show normal, including thyroid.
We'll see what the surgeon says today.

Have had both Thy Ca and Bb dx for a couple of years now. Had both sides of the thyroid removed as nodules were biopsied and cancer was found.
At the time did not know I had Lyme and thought all sxs were related to Thyroid problems....not true. I am monitored by an endo that's aware of my Lyme, although not knowledgable really.
After removal I didn't have to have any chemo but, they did radiation to ablate any remnants of Ty tissue. Rec'd Bb dx later that year.

I had papillary and follicular thyroid cancer diagnosed in 1991.
My blood work was also normal.
My case was due to radiation exposure. Why would you think the Marshall Protocol has anything to do with this?
The lyme still takes the cake as far as the fatigue and trouble walking.

I had mine removed Jan.06. I will tell you the
most important thing is getting a great surgeon
who has done hundreds if not thousands of these.
I took a 3 hr drive just for this. He had to
dissect all my neck to get it all out. I did my
research and was prepared for the worst. As it
would have it it was all benign. But I did lose
one parathyroid to disease. So this is whats most
important-having a surgeon who can identify and
get it out. And place the ones(parathyroid) that are not- in
position to work. Very important.
Would you consider sending Igenex a sample for
testing? I do think total is the way to go so
don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Why? Because
I knew a man who did not go total and he battled
it for 5 years when it went Anaplastic.

I am so very sorry to hear this. You and yours are very much in my thoughts and prayers.
I do so wish other MP-ers who have contracted cancer would share openly so that patients might be aware of all possible risks, which are nay-sayed and glossed over at the MP website. Whether or not there is an official link to the MP and cancer yet, I think people should be aware of all the MP patient data, especially those patients who have not had good outcomes.

Just an FYI, no it IS thyroid thymoma (tumors) that are associated with myathenia gravis -- I just doubled checked. If you have extreme weakness and trouble walking you might want to rule out MG.
I didn't know about the Marshall Protocol/cancer possibility -- it's really interesting/disturbing to learn about this.

I had my thyroid removed last Friday afternoon and was home Saturday morning. The surgeon did an amazing job - one stitch externally and 2 clamps internally. Almost no swelling or physical discomfort. The anesthesia, that was another story.
The chemical changeover in my body is aggravating the Lyme but the important thing is that the doc saw no disease spread beyond the thyroid, even to the local lymph glands. This is really good news. The tests will tell the tale.
In 6 weeks we get radioactive iodine to kill any thyroid tissue remaining, then it's synthetic thyroid meds for life and biannual monitoring. Hopefully the iodine test does not discover any cancerous thyroid tissue elsewhere... but these results are about as good as it gets a week after surgery.
