I thank my "lucky stars" that I found this forum last year around this time. The information and support I have found here continues to help me slog through the mire that is tick borne illness.
For you who haven't heard the story, my adolescent was diagnosed by a marvelous LLMD last August. Positive for babesia, bartonella and "indicated" for Lyme on lab tests.
The LLMD has treated with a variety of supplements, abx and mepron/malarone, based on symptoms and improvement of health. My kid has gone from house-bound to attending school and maintaining good grades under the care of this wonderful doc. We are looking forward to a "normal" summer with camp and a nice vacation in late August. (Haven't been able to travel much the past couple of years due to the illness.)
Several people have told me that this LLMD works wonders with coinfected/multiple-infected patients. It took the LLMD a couple of months to work out the "3 Bs", but the LLMD didn't stop there!
After targeting the 3 infections over 8-months, and my kid reaching 80% of normal, the LLMD still continued to look for pieces to the puzzle for health. (Still having some fatigue and skin rash, plus headaches. None as severe as before treatment, but more than normal.)
LLMD sent us to a 2nd LLMD to review the health info from scratch and determine if anything might have been missed. 2nd LLMD ordered tests for the immune system strength, environmental toxins, and two tbds not previously screened: RMSF and Q fever. The RMSF came back positive!
Luckily, the kid is already on doxy, so the battle is engaged. I've just scanned through the old posts on RMSF and I feel up-to-speed for the LLMD appointment tomorrow.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THIS FORUM!!
Thank you for saving my child! Thank you for saving my sanity!!!

WoW. What a great LLMD. It is great you did not
stop treatment and great you and he was able to
find it. As you can see here these guys and dolls
are modest but they all deserve that pat on the
back. GOOD GOING EVERYONE

WOW! First of all wonder news that your child is improving!! I have 2 kids sick along with myself. It's rough to see your kids sick and not be able to do things. My youngest was out of school from March until the end of the year.
Second, RMSF can be deadly! My mom has it. Thank God your LLMD found it!!
Third, could you PM me who you see? I am looking for a new LLMD for my kids? Yours sounds wonderful!
Thanks!! Amy
