My daughter was hospitalized earlier this month with a blood infection (klebsiella pneumoniae) and put on 14 days of the antibiotic Ertapenem.
While on the abx we noticed a drop in her Bartonella-like symptoms - mood mostly, anxiety, rage, etc.
We just stopped today and it is all back. It could be hormonal.
I am going to call her LLMD and ask him what he thinks, but I wonder if anyone has heard of this antibiotic being used for bart, babs or lyme?

It is one of the abx in a class called carbapenems, others in the class are Merrem, Primaxin and some others whose names I can not remember right now.
Some patients here have been prescribed them, a search for those names should bring up some results. I do not remember anyone indicating that they were a breakthrough drug, but I do think they worked well in some instances.

4seasons, has your daughter treated for babesia? The mood stuff could be babesia rather than bartonella.

Yes, she is currently on IV Zith and Mepron for Babesia.
We know she has bartonella, but we aren't treating it at the moment.
Maybe her mood stuff is a herx from the Babs treatment? But why would it disappear with the Ertapenem?
